Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Indianapolis East

Horrible experience. Came for a concert. Banging in the walls at midnight, and some sort of water pressure sound early morning. The springs in the bed were almost unbearable. I’d done better sleeping on the couch. The “complementary breakfast” was laughable at best. The sausage I wouldn’t have fed my dogs. The breakfast sandwich should have been tossed into a fire so no one would have to endure the absolute tragedy that someone tried to pass it for edible food. The pool was littered with children under the age of 10. The entrance should have had a sign stating that it was unsupervised swimming daycare. I would NEVER come to this establishment again. Nor any of the affiliated hotels.

Positives: Convenient to downtown Indianapolis (meaning not difficult to get to, not in downtown ;) ). 5/5 The staff were excellent the rooms were great. 5/5 (I’d give more if I could) Negatives: Some lights outside the building were out which doesn’t portray the feeling of being on top of the property, but it happens. 4/5 Either a staff member or a staff member’s family member/ride was smoking pot in their car in the parking lot, near the entrance of the hotel at 7am… 7am! I know you can’t control what people do in the parking lot, but if it is a staffing situation having a policy against pot in the parking lot would be nice. 3/5 (I’d give less, but I don’t want to detract too much from the great staff in the facility). Thanks you for the great stay!

The entire second floor had an awful smell, including the room. The sheets had yellow stains on them. I was going to take a shower but the water never would get hot. They were out of several breakfast items that were advertised. i had my daughter and she is a toddler so she ran around without her shoes and her feet were filthy. We were only staying for one night so I didn’t ask for another room but I’ll never book with them again.

Overall the hotel was clean and accommodating. However, my daughter found an old cigarette butt on the floor, by the base of our bed. I notified the front desk about this and they said they would send someone up to take care of it, and it never happened. Also, upon arrival, past stated check in time, our room was not ready and we were led to believe that they had overbooked. After waiting in the dining area for about 20 minutes, a friend went up and the front desk said that we could change to a King suite at no extra charge. Fortunately, we were in a situation where this worked out for us. If the rest of my family would have been with us, this would not have worked. Pool is super small, but we could have visited the Marriott across the parking lot and used their facilities as well.

The best part of hotel is employees. All very helpful, friendly. It has a little indoor pool which was enjoyed by families. I did not eat breakfast, but others did. It smelled good! I stayed in a suite with a large jacuzzi. Very nice. You have to ask for housekeeping the previous day, so ask when you check in. Plenty of parking. Not surrounded by a nice neighborhood, but well lit.
