Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Chicago Southeast/Hammond

The hotel is basically on the middle of the highway. Terrible location. Bleak, dingy, gross. The front desk person was unhelpful at best. A group of my family was in different rooms for a funeral. My parent’s room had ripped curtains and a dirty toilet. My room had a dirty toilet. My sister’s room had mold in the shower. The halls reek of cigarette smoke. Marriott needs to remove this hotel from its portfolio

My wife and I travelled 266 miles to this property to celebrate our 33rd wedding Anniversary in and around Chicago. We were welcomed. Our room had a bouquet of roses, a bottle of sparkling wine, a card signed by the staff, an edible fruit dipped chocolste box and a box of bakeshop cupcakes! So nice! We had booked for 4 nights so we had plenty of time to enjoy our stay. We reserved a king room and no kidding the bed was the most comfortable we've had. We were able to easily get to the Shedd Aquarium and enjoy what the city had to offer. I would have rated our room higher except for our window being smeared or smudged and the cable was out due to some renovations. The pool was open and the hot tub had been taken out a few years prior. The pool and the pool area and lights looked like it needed a good cleaning and maybe a new pump/filter. We did not swim this trip. Breakfast was make your own waffles/crisp bacon/turkey sausage patty/scrambled eggs,assorted fruit, cereals ,oatmeal.. etc. What made our experience great was the staff. Every night we would return from our adventure and was greeted by Jackie who would ask where'd we go today? Or what did you see today? So friendly. I can't say enough of how apreciative and thankful I am for having stayed at this property.

The staff were great. Jackie was very helpful & nice. I appreciated her for working on Christmas eve so we could travel & enjoy our family. She was thankful & pleasant to talk to. Breakfast staff was great too. Dining room & food was great. Its nice to see good prople working & being friendly on the holidays. Fairfield Inn has some great staff there

The staff was friendly, the hotel room was very clean, the pool was clean and warm, and the breakfast was pretty good for the whole family to enjoy!! It was the best experience we have had in a long time!!
