Comfort Suites French Lick

This was not my first time staying at this property but unsure if I would return. Comfort was nice as far as bed and couch went. Bathroom was a little on the dirty side at check in. Our room was shared with a pretty concerning amount of gnats and baby flies. Our room had a very "damp" feel to it. Breakfast options were pretty standard with no complaints.

Far end of the one hall smelled awful of mildew. The pool and hot tub were closed and under construction...which the kids were really upset about.

Pool was closed and nothing was posted online. We were coming with our kids so that was a huge disappointment. No refund or credit was offered. Would NOT recommend.

This was not a great stay for our family. Our beds had hair on the "clean" sheets. The refrigerator was not working so items we planned on keeping cool were wasted. The hot tub was closed which was stated on their website. But on arrival, it looked like it was closed due to ceiling pieces falling into the hot tub. That is something that needs to be cleaned up to make the pool area more enjoyable for all even if the hot tub cannot be used.

The hotel is being renovated, but the portion we saw was nice. We requested a handicapped accessible room and it was spacious. This was nice.as we were visiting with family and had relatives also staying in the hotel and this gave the kids room to play.

This is 2nd stay at this location. Room was not as nice as last visit, but it was on the first floor, and I beleave they are in process of renovating the rooms on the first froor. We like that we can bring are fury children here as well.

Our entire family stayed in separate rooms. We wish they could have been on the same floor but it was quiet, safe, and a great location.

We stayed here because we were in town for a dance competition. I never book a non refundable room because dance competitions always change their dates. Well no surprise this one did, i tried to change the date and was unable to because it was non refundable. I tried going back to see where I had missed that in the description, but couldnt find it. Had Hotels.com ask the general manager to change it. They said no. Called the hotel directly and was also told no. Anyway so we arrive. Check in was fine room was fine. It was actually really big! Then 2 days in I ask the front desk for towels, they didnt have any so they suggested I bring them to them to wash?!?! I was Ill check back later. Went and asked again and was only able to get 2 for my family of 4! Next day we were expecting housekeeping. They never came so had to get more towels, toiletpaper, and kleenex. This went on our whole stay. Finally the second to last day we were finally told if we wanted towels we needed to put our used towels in a pile outside our door. And that went for trash too. So we did that. The funny thing about this is that there was an envelope on the desk in the room that was for a tip! I felt like I was being asked to tip the walmart employee after using the self check out!! I checked out a day early. This was a very frustrating task for the front desk, and she was unable to do it. She asked why everyone was checking out early. I told her about my experience with the general manager.

On the way to the hotel we seen a lot of fun things to do with the family. It’s many fun things to choose from near by. Everything from the hotel room to the breakfast was wonderful, tasty, and very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Location was near attractions, and distant enough to avoid traffic and noise. Front entrance garbage can was overflowing, garbage was on the floor in the way. Not to mention vomit as well. I was given a room that was partially used. Missing coffee, used towel, missing sheets for pull-out sofa, found a cookie and a gummy worm in plain sight, toilet backed up. These things matter when you have 4 children especially one that crawls. Yes, I was given another room, however, valuable time was lost to re-pack and move to another room. We could've enjoyed the pool better, went to sleep earlier and woke up earlier for breakfast. The receptionist was very nice to provide another reason and very apologetic for my inconvenience. Next morning, manager was not in, however, I was told she would call or send an e-mail regarding the issues I faced. Still haven't heard from her. I've stayed at a few Choice Hotel locations, but none that were this poor in cnodition.
