Baymont by Wyndham Galesburg

We didn't have issues with the hotel itself so much, some maintenance improvements could definitely be made and cleanliness in the room wasn't an issue. The issue we had from late check in to breakfast the next morning was there were kids being allowed to just run freely and wild. I am a father of 3 so I get that kids will be kids but they can not be allowed to just run rampant. Upon arrival there were children in the lobby at the coffee bar playing and making a mess drinking the creamer and just being wild. Sure, not my mess to clean but had I wanted a cup of coffee I would've bypassed and gone to the nearby gas station. We finally laid down around 11pm or so we were greeted with stopping from above as I can only assume the same kids were running wild on the second floor. The next morning we went to breakfast and the kids from the lobby the night before were in the breakfast area again running wild and putting their hands in their mouths then strait into everything in their path on the breakfast line. Not sure if these were children of guests or employees. I understand if they were guests children the staff is limited to controlling them but could/should be addressed directly with the parent and if they were employee children I get the potential issues and cost associated with childcare but reign them in when at a place of business

Came for a family reunion weekend. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Request for a room with short walking distance from entering hotel lobby was accommodated. Room was clean and fresh smelling and comfortable. We had a nice stay.

our king bed was hard as a board. It really stirred up my sore hip. But everything else was great. Staff was wonderful. Location was terrific. Other than the hard bed, this was a great stay w/ my children & grandchildren.

First off as soon as you walked in lobby there was very strong smell of urine. Additionally there were some kids having a party a few rooms down who could have been no more than 15-17. There was a strong Oder of weed by that room. The bed had pubs on it as well I would have went elsewhere but I had just finished a 15 hour trip! Wasted my $80 credit on this place!

The room condition is bizarre and horribly dated. Horribly "updated". The "spa tub" is in the middle of the bedroom. The walls have been patched over on every single surface and horribly done. There is no thermostat. The plastic is still on the electric cord plugging the A/C into the wall. Wonder what year that was installed? The grout on the base of the spa tub is black and looks like a prison shower. There was a baseball event apparently staying at the hotel. I have kids and understand the dynamic. But the hotel allowed these kids to literally run through the upper level halls until 1am. If you aren't staffed for it, I'm sure the local police could be called for a noise complaint by the desk manager. The hallways reeked of marijuana. I get that it's legal, but it's still a non smoking establishment. There were spiders in the bathroom and make up stains on the pillow cases on ALL 4 PILLOWS. Probably the tears of despair and sadness from the pervious occupant. I'm a business traveler and this was my first and last stay out of 15 nights in galesburg at this hotel. The franchise owner should stay next door for one night. I chose your property to be fiscally responsible to my company as it was $90 less than the Holiday Inn property next door... and I've trusted your brand in the past. I paid way too much for this horrible room. I'll happily explain to my company why I'm paying more to stay at a proper hotel. I'm sorry. I will try your band again elsewhere.

This hotel is less than 10 minutes from the Amtrak train station so it was very convenient. I was surprised it had a pool and continental breakfast in the morning. Those two things are always a plus but I only had coffee in the morning because my trip was short. The room was basic, pretty comfortable,good tv channels, the heat worked. The only issue I had was getting into my room but the man working the front desk was very helpful and I travel a lot so that was not a big deal. Just a little updating needed but overall I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very welcoming. One thing to keep in mind is that it only has one cab company so if you are depending on transportation I would definitely call a few hours ahead. I thought I may need a cab but I was able to get rides from my friend and her family who lived not to far away.

This unfortunately will be the last time my family will stay at this property. I feel that this property is not complying with the standards of the Wyndham name. I literally felt like a prisoner in my room. We couldn't move about the room freely without the dirt and grime literally rubbing off on our clothes. I travel so much and choose Wyndham properties first. The Baymont is in absolutely no way a reflection of what Wyndham standards are. The Baymont does not tolerate complaints against it's staff. Your stay, service and room will most certainly reflect that.
