DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Wood Dale - Elk Grove

Our flight at Chicago O’Hare was canceled, so we had to find a last minute stay. It was fast and easy to get a room and check in. The only real complaint I have is how nasty the pool restroom was. There was a toilet full of toilet paper and other stuff, toilet paper all over the floor and the trash can was full. It looked like it had t been cleaned in quite awhile. Other than that, the kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool.

The hotel was so-so, I guess I set my expectations too high from other Hilton stays in the past. Booked a room for my partner, our two children, and myself. Upon arrival to our room we had noticed our mini fridge with freezer was not working and had water leaking out the bottom, when we told them about it I was told we could switch rooms so I had packed everything back up and loaded up to move only to find out they just wanted to swap fridges from another room. No big deal just inconvenient. Also they had just two towels in our room so for staying a handful of nights we needed more since there were 4 of us also no big deal. Pool was slightly run down and lacked towels to dry off. Food menu was decent but prices were slightly ridiculous, door dashed food significantly cheaper than buying food from them. Very surprised they didn’t have a free breakfast. Beds weren’t horrible and sheets were clean. Check in and out were both easy and quick. If I had to say I probably would not choose to stay at this hotel again unless it was my only choice. Didn’t receive cookies either like my previous stays with Hilton so that was slightly disappointing. Side note the whole city along with hotel was completely over ran with cicadas! They were in hallways as well inside hotel.

The place was dirty. The pool was freezing and disgusting!! My kids and husband were itching for a day after with red bumps all over. There was hair in the pool and never any towels
