Best value for this prime location! We have stayed here as a family several times. The hotel is clean, staff is helpful and we love the bottle water and coffee machines. This last stay we had one of the best views. Pack n play available for our baby to sleep and microwave & refrigerator in the room make it easy for family travel.

The location is excellent! You are able to walk to so many different attractions, restaurants, etc. The front staff - especially Liz - is wonderful. Pleasant and extremely helpful. They make the experience perfect. PLUS is that they are pet friendly - they understand the fact that they are family!

For context: This review is after a stay in August of 2022. I have used this hotel three times total. All three times as a visitor/tourist to the city, not business. This is also the "River Hotel". I really don't understand why the two entities. Previous two bookings were with "River Hotel", the most recent with "Club Quarters". I remember liking this hotel ever since my first visit a few years ago. The rooms are not the fanciest or most upscale, but the combination of price and location on the river made it feel worthy (everything else on the river is so expensive). After the second stay, which I was still satisfied with, I decided to try some other hotels around the city. I just finished my 6th or 7th visit (lost count) to Chicago and went with family, so price was a little more of a factor. This hotel popped in my head as the go-to option based on my memory - not the nicest, but price location was still best. Anyway, I wouldn't bother with this hotel. Only one single outlet worked in my room. The bed was really uncomfortable and lumpy. The room felt cramped, not "cozy". Nothing about it felt nice. Nothing about it felt comfortable. You know how sometimes on a vacation, sometimes you would say "let's go back to the hotel and rest for a bit"...yeah, not with this place. With how beautiful and amazing downtown Chicago is, "going back to the room" feels like detention. This may be one of the cheaper options on the river, but trust me - it is NOT worth it.

Staff is excellent and accommodating however to have only one elevator in service for over 38 floors is totally unacceptable. These times are difficult with shortages however the booking site should warn clients of the sometimes 20 minute wait for an elevator especially if you have a luggage cart or children with prams etc.
