Kimpton Hotel Monaco Chicago, an IHG Hotel

My family of 4 can’t say enough about our stay this weekend at L7. We stayed here primarily because it was pet friendly- with no fee! We were thrilled with the unique touches throughout the hotel. The room was spacious, with a window seat looking out into the city. The crave station with popcorn and customizable hot drinks was delicious. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect too. We walked to everything we needed, with a L station only about 5 mins away. We’ve never stayed at a L7 before this one in Chicago but, we left saying it’s the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at- and we are freq travelers.

My clients and I stayed here on what just happened to be Lollapalooza weekend which was so fun. There's a variety of guests, including families. The staff seems to be a bit young and untrained, or perhaps they're just casual - in dress and also service level. Wifi in the lobby was spotty, which is always frustrating. However, the amenities were thoughtful. The umbrella and robe were fun additions. Housekeeping was great. For the price I really wanted it to be closer to perfect. With a bit more training of the staff, I think it will be.

The hotel was updated and clean. My children enjoyed the unique window seat. We sat there at the end of a long day to watch everyone walking around the City. It was centrally located and close to amazing restaurants and the riverwalk. It was an awesome hotel and we’d recommend it to families.

New or newly renovated hotel that is just across the street from Riverwalk and a short walking distance from Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Restaurants and Lake subway stop (Red Line). The main positives for me was the location as I travelled with my kids (6 & 12 yrs) and being able to go out for the mornings, stop in to the hotel for a break in the day or nap before going out again in the evening was very convenient. The hotel was clean and modern with friendly staff (particularly Duane who helped with our luggage and valet parking). Driving in Chicago can be hectic so if you can walk or take the train to move around I highly recommend. This hotel does allow in & out privileges for their valet parking if you choose to drive. All downtown hotels seem to charge for parking and its not cheap so be prepared for that. I looked around the area for self parking options and it didn't seem to be saving me money and didn't allow in/out privileges. The onsite Korean restaurant opened up during our stay but we didn't try it out. It looked nice on the inside though.

I love this area b/c my family can enjoy river walking and shopping. Everything was amazing from the ammenities and room service. Also all the staff were extremely nice and professional and I had an amazing time staying here!

My family and I stay there whenever we visit Chicago. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The staff are very friendly and nice.

Everything about the Kimpton exceeded our expectations. My kids especially enjoyed the window seats in our river view room. Antonio was outside every day to greet us and is so very friendly and kind. We happened to visit on Mexican Independence Day weekend that literally shut down the city on Saturday night which presneted some challenges, but Kimpton employees made everyone feel safe.

I can't say enough about the staff and hotel. Everyone was happy and attentive. The hotel was very clean and it had a welcoming vibe from the Front Desk, Bellhop, Dining Staff, Cleaning Staff and others. Everyone was helpful, kind, and professional. The hotel was well taking care of and had everything we needed. Kudos to all employees. They truly love their job. Very, Very happy with your management and cleanliness. The food was awesome. It was hot and delicious. I'm definitely coming back and will let our family and friends know how wonderful your hotel really is.
