The Resort
Kauai Beach Resort is a gem among Kauai hotels. It has class, style and genuine value alongside the many more expensive choices available on Kauai. Kauai Beach Resort is a former Hilton resort renovated and converted to a 4 Star condo/hotel resort. You enter the property through a tunnel of trees from the Kuhio Highway, just three miles from the airport. As you pass the coy pond you enter the open air lobby. Here you will experience the friendliest hotel staff you have ever met, reminding you that you are indeed in Hawaii.
Set on 25 lush acres in an area with little development other than KBR itself, with no other hotels, condos or other clutter to mar your view, the resort is surrounded by nature. The resorts rooms surround a central garden which contains four pools, two hot tubs, waterfalls, a water slide and a sand bottom pool surrounded with sand. Overlooking the sand bottom pool and ocean is the Driftwood Bar & Grill. Relax in the sun on the beach lounges around the sand surrounded pool as the Driftwood folks refill your drinks and bring you snacks. Or cool down with a shaved ice, a Hawaiian tradition from Ko Shave Ice. All this just a 20 second stroll to the beach and 20 seconds to your room.

The Beach
Three miles of pristine open beach with no other resorts to disturb your view.
While the beach is scenic, it is not considered a swimmable beach as it has quite a bit of coral and lava. However the coral and lave makes for some beautiful breakers. The surf can also be pretty challenging for most. It does have some sections with soft sand for swimming and wading; however, it's best to go to one of Kauai's famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach, just north of the golf course, is the closest to the resort and has great facilities for picnicking, a children’s playground and protected beach areas for swimming. You can walk the beach to Lydgate State Park and Beach from the resort, about 2 ½ miles, or drive, about 3 miles. You will also want to visit other popular Kauai beaches which include Poipu Beach, Anini Beach, Kalapaki Beach, Shipwrecks Beach(great hiking trail), Waioli Beach Park on Hanalei Bay and many more.
The Island
Kauai is Hawaii's fourth largest island and is called the Garden Island. The oldest and northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain is draped in emerald valleys, sharp mountain spires and soaring jagged cliffs of the Na Pali Coast and Waimea Canyon(Grand Canyon of the Pacific) all aged by time and the elements. Centuries of growth have formed tropical rainforests, forking rivers and cascading waterfalls! Some parts of Kauai are only accessible by sea, air or trail, revealing views beyond your imagination. More than just dramatic beauty, the island is home to a variety of outdoor activities. You can kayak the Wailua River and see the beautiful Fern Grotto, snorkel or surf on Poipu Beach, hike the trails of Kokee State Park, bike along the Coconut coast from Kapa’a, hike up Waimea Canyon and savor panoramic views of the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, explore white beaches on Kauai’s Coconut Coast, one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet, and play in the emerald blue ocean. But, it is the island's laid-back atmosphere and rich culture found in its small towns that make it truly timeless. Explore the regions of Kauai and make your escape to discover the undeniable allure of the island.
• Kayak the Wailua River and see the beautiful Fern Grotto
• Snorkel or surf on Poipu Beach
• Hike the trails of Kokee State Park
