Aston Islander on the Beach

I loved the location with Coconut Marketplace just a couple minutes away by foot and the beach also in walking distance. Great dining options and lots of cute gift shops. Excellent for families with little ones as well as solo travelers like myself. The walls seemed pretty sound proof although I didn’t mind hearing the birds right outside my window. It just felt like paradise. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely be back again.

Not so great experience. Requested two double beds for family of 4. Provided a king bed with a super super uncomfortable pull out sofa. Front desk not accommodating or helpful. Room was tired looking and super small for 4 people with bed extended. Toilet would run non-stop and had to adjust the stopper to be able to flush it. Cable tv would not work. But—bartender at pool was nice. And we tried our best to not for d much time at hotel during our 2 day stay.

Given the mixed reviews from others, I was a little nervous checking into my room. It was clean and you really can't beat the location. Right on the ocean unlike some other places I considered staying. Besides the loud and obnoxious kids who kept doing canon balls into the hot tub and the parents who let them do it, the pool area was peaceful. Easy drive to anywhere on the island.

The property is beautiful. We picked an ocean view room and the view was amazing. Listened to waves crashing every night. The downside was the ocean was unusable at this location. It is windy and made waves crashing into shore dangerous. Signs posted everywhere to not get in. We rented here to use the beach and then it's not usable. We had to leave the property everyday to find a usable beach for our kids. Very frustrating to pay so much for a room so close to the beach that's only a scenic view. The pool is tiny but we managed. The hot tub was full with people every night that stayed in there for hours. It would be nice if there were signs that said a max stay of 15-20 minutes. Then others could use the hot tub. Or people should just be more courteous. The room only got cleaned every 2 days and we had to ask for towels every time we showered. With a family and going to the beach we need towels everyday. And room cleanup. That was frustrating. The staff were very nice. There are restaurants and little shopping complex right across the parking lot that we used nightly. We had an enjoyable stay but if you want a usable beach this is not it.

We got an ocean view room for our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms themselves are a little dated but everything was clean and the beach was outside our doors. Staff were friendly and helpful, grounds were gorgeous, several shops are nearby to walk to. Pool is great but we didn't use it. Seemed to be more of an adult property than child-friendly, was pretty quiet. Only downside was that the beach itself is quite rocky, which I realize they can't control but is helpful to know especially if you have kids.
