White Sands Hotel

Pictures on website are much desirable than in reality. The staff were very friendly and helpful but pool area a bit dirty and smelly. The fish pond area was stained with bird droppings. Seating area hasnt been cleaned or wiped down. Hottub and pool water had a merky color. The room was pretty comfortable but was awaken by pounding and knocking by someone who may have locked themself out of their room. I wouldn't recommend families with little children. It is more of a singles crowd who were also allowed to smoke while hanging around the poolside bar.

Part of the low rating was due to the weather. I understand that it is a tropical island and it rained most of our stay. The hotel presented itself as a beautiful resort in photos. The photos you scroll through seem grand and inviting, yet the expression I got was “wait, that was it?”. Lower your expectations when considering this place. We walked into a strong moldy smelling room, thought it was just how it was. It rained pretty heavy and water from the balcony started coming in and the carpet was soaked. Called the front desk and they had maintenance come clean and dry it. But didn’t really solve the issue since it happened again the next day. All we got was “sorry about that”. The location was centralized if you wanna be touristy and shop, the beach was walking distance and don’t bother renting a car! It says they have parking on property but it’s all reserved, you have to pay $35-$40 to park elsewhere. Kudos to the bartenders who were so accommodating and understanding. They made sure everyone was covered from the rain. Also, there is a $25 amenities fee which included a cookie, and pool equipments and some rental services. Lame! This isn’t a family friendly space… don’t bring your kids!

This facility is a little bit of a catfish. The rooms don’t look like the pictures shown. The pool area and bar are probably the area that looks most like the pictures. The jacuzzi was not working the first 2 days we were there and we had rainy days so it would have been nice to have it working. There is no elevator as a warning. Our family had 2 separate rooms in one of the rooms had bugs on the bed so please check beds upon arrival. Overall it was an ok experience, the staff was always so helpful, they quickly solved the bug situation and got another room ready. The location was great walking distance to the beach and all the stores too might need to get to.

Hands-down the best customer service I've ever experienced at a US hotel. The staff is extremely attentive and quick to follow-up on any concerns. Special thanks to Jericho for being flexible and willing to accommodate last minute changes in my itinerary. Will definitely recommend this to friends and family going forward.

The check in staff is perfect. The property is very clean and on a very good atmosphere. Very good for families and young couples. The restaurant has very goid menu options. I totally recomend White Sands at Waikiki

Loved my stay at White Sands. It had such a great vibe, was convenient and the property felt very private. I loved my Singapore Sling at the hidden Green Lady. I could hear my neighbors next door, but just normal family noise. With a shared door and balconies, it's hard not hear, but it wasn't a big deal. Shower stall was pretty tight and would be a problem for a bigger person. The room had an electric tea pot, but providing some coffee/teas to go with it to get me through my morning routine.would have been great! : ) An elevator would go a long way. I had a bag that weighted 50 lbs and that was a tough haul up the stairs...even a lift just for luggage, like a dumb waiter style, would be great. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel would be great if I was in my 20s, looking to party. It's not suitable for families.

I scheduled a 6-night stay at the White Sands Resort for my family of 4 (2 little kids). Based off of the pictures and description on Expedia we thought the hotel was semi recently updated and looked like a really cute boutique hotel. The check in process was smooth. After heading towards are room we immediately realized we made a mistake in booking this hotel. The place was filthy. Stains on the walls, stains covering the hall carpet, beer glasses sitting on the staircase... then we entered our room hoping it would get better, but it did not. the bathroom had a full wad of hair sitting in the folded shower towel, the floors hadn't even been vacuumed, and the bathroom synch was filthy with makeup debris and dust every where. We wiped around the sink with a white towel and it came away black. I went downstairs to ask for another room from the front desk but the hotel was fully booked and unfortunately it was already 10pm by the time we got to our hotel due to a late flight so we were unable to book a different hotel for that evening. That evening I did make arrangements to stay at a different hotel for the remainder of our trip. Although the hotel front desk staff was unable to accommodate us in a different room because the hotel was fully booked, they were appologetic and did give me a refund of the taxes and fees for the hotel without any hassle. They also worked with expedia to refund me all but the night we had to stay at the hotel.

Fun pool bar, decent pool area but only 10 chairs, very nice front desk staff. But, they call themselves a 3.5 star but are at best a two star. No elevator, so I carried luggage up three flights. No daily maid service. Plastic cups. No towel racks or hooks in bathroom. Broken ice machine. I had a bad slip and fall after kids were running and throwing things around the pool area, and staff did nothing to stop them.

Loved our stay at White Sands. Tiki bar was great, people were friendly and the accommodation was exactly what we needed. We booked a suite for 2 adults and 2 kids and there was heaps more space than the standard hotel rooms by the beach. About a 10 min walk to the main beach area too
