Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra

Lovely rooms and staff :) Laundrette is due for an update but the lobby and rest of the building is modern and lovely. There are shops in the motel and also next door in the Ala Moana shopping centre. A short bus ride to Waikiki. Great place to stay for couples, families, everyone!

It’s always an amazing stay there! As a local, that’s always our first pick for a family vaycay ! A pop up sandwich shop would be good just in case we don’t make it back before the restaurant close. We will be back again!

Rooms were very tiny. Lots of homeless around the building. Pool closes early and overrun with unsupervised kids.

It was convenient for my family.

First time there was a awsome experience for me and my family. If you do decide to go i suggest you take the breafast add on option. Its a restraunt in the hotel that serves breakfast buffet and is excellent

Stayed at this hotel as a family of 4.We loved the amenities and walking distance of the mall. Hotel is beautiful and has some amazing views. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice stay, my wife and 3 kids (all under 5). We wouldn’t book it again, seemed like a hotel for seniors. The room shower was old fashion, older tv (can’t connect phone), and what I thought was weird is the pool and little gym they have closes at 7pm. Perfect hotel if you looking for a quiet relaxing stay!

Convenient location for short family visit.

Really enjoyed staying here for my first trip to Hawaii for my birthday. I booked an ocean view suite and that was the best decision I could’ve made. The view of the ocean was beautiful, and the suite was nice and spacious. I don’t get good sleep generally but I slept like a baby every night I was there. The only recommendation for the bed is that they provide 4 pillows, not 3. But, I was able to get an extra pillow easily and quickly. Housekeeping staff was very friendly. The Signature Restaurant has a great happy hour, but it gets significantly packed during that time. My mom and I tried to go, but there weren’t two available spaces for both of us. Before happy hour starts at 4:30, there is a line formed for the elevator that goes up to the restaurant. The view is beautiful from up there though, since it is on the 36th floor. I was happy that the shower head had the option to change the pressure of the water coming out of the shower, and loved that there was a bath so I could relax. Lyft transportation in the area is super quick, and I especially liked that we were right next to Ala Moana Center - it was very convenient. I also tried the pastrami sandwich at Cafe Da Da and they weren’t joking - that was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. The only cons were that the pool closes at 7, so besides having a drink at the bar there isn’t much to do after 7pm at the hotel. They also didn’t have a poolside bar like I thought I read. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend!

Checking in to the hotel we were greeted by valet. One thing I didn’t like was that you had to pay for parking no matter if you self parked ($39) or valet ($49). I definitely think one of those should be free. The front desk reception some were very nice but I also seen some just starring at the screen when checking out. There was a little line too. Our room was basic two queen I wanted a view of the ocean but I was given the view of the city. It was fine because it was beautiful at night. The beds were comfy, I also want to thank housekeeping they are the best in my opinion. They cleaned our room and made our bed everyday, and tucked in the stuffed animals for the kids (so cute). They loved that, so thank you Housekeeping! 💕
