Holiday Inn Express Historic District, an IHG Hotel

Great family vacation! Room could have been a bit more clean... not disgusting though. Customer Service was excellent especially the young lady at the front desk. Amazing customer service Ms. Loni!!! Our interaction with her at the beginning of our trip was great. Thumbs up 👍

The staff was absolutely wonderful! The location is also perfect. This said for a $250 + per night hotel I would have expected the room cleaning with fresh towels to be done more than once in 4 nights. With 2 kids it’s was hard.

We would definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to family and friends. It’s located near the River St. area and is directly in the Historic District. Breakfast was included which was nice. Be advised: parking for the hotel is valet only. Although, there is a parking garage that we parked in directly next to the hotel. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here.

When we arrived Sunday night, they did not tell us they were having air-conditioning problems. Sunday and Monday night the heat in the room was unbearable. We were told they're air-conditioning was out and offered a fan. This hotel room was very expensive, enough to have working air-conditioning. This is unacceptable! I will never stay here and will make sure all my friends and family know the poor service we recieved.

First, I called to ask for a room facing the river. Rep sounded irritated. After getting my answers, I said thanks and have a good day. She ended the call with a “Mm…” Everyone listening on my end was so surprised. The same woman was much kinder in person. In the room, the carpet felt damp and dirty. We got one of the cleaners to vacuum for us. It didn’t help. Still felt gross. The kids didn’t sit on the floor the whole time. During the hurricane, they were great! Had games to take to our room and gave us extra food/snacks for the kids. Lost internet and they quickly restored it. So many issues with the room itself. The cabinet door where the fridge was broke off. The toilet paper holder was basically hanging on the wall. The overhead light in the bathroom flickered because one of the bulbs needed to be changed. The fridge didn’t keep our food cold (milk spoiled). They switched it out for a smaller fridge. We had to ask often for clean towels and for the bed to be made. One day, they left old ones on the floor after dropping off new towels. We had a balcony but access to it was denied. It was locked. The worst part was how dirty the carpet and bathroom floor always felt. The towel used on the floor after showers was always black with dirt. Repairs were done quickly. Didn’t bother re the floor. The location was awesome. The pool is nice. No one used it early in the AM. The gym was basic. The info desk guy was good. Expedia said 8.8. I’d say 4/10. Was disappointed.

One elevator working. Fire alarm going off everyone evacuated. Walking up six flights of stairs after all clear. Once again, only one elevator operational for at least the four days myself and family were there. Too much furniture in double room. Just my observations.

This hotel is obviously dated. A tile fell off in the bathroom, both elevators were out of order when I checked in on Thursday and continued into Friday. I wasn’t informed about the elevators until AFTER I checked in, and was only given the option to stay on the 6th floor. When my family checked in the next day, they were offered a room on the 2nd floor or the option for a full refund so they could stay somewhere else. We ultimately decided to stay because the one elevator was fixed by dinner. Our entire stay, only one elevator worked, which caused long lines and long wait times. There was a terrible sewage smell that permeated the entire hotel, so I’m not sure what that was about. The price for the hotel does not reflect quality.. only the prime location. Overall- the location is amazing, but I would not stay there again.

Great family weekend for the holiday. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Perfect location.

Would highly recommend this property for families, couples or single passengers. Location and staff are fabulous. To top iit - there is parking, a swimming pool and a gym.
