The Westin Tampa Waterside

We stayed during a special event and we had such a great time. All of the staff was great. I was working a lot for the event but my wife and kids got to really enjoy the accommodations and I was very happy with the time I spent with them in our room and at the pool. The location is practically unbeatable.

A pleasant stay for a family staycation

I liked it. Suited my needs and they treated my English Bulldog like a family member. The valet group and service desk personnel were great.

What a horrible stay - wish we had chosen a different hotel for our weekend. First we endured a ridiculously long wait to check-in because there was only one person at the front desk on a SATURDAY AFTERNOON. Then we get a suite that doesn't have a working bathtub (water wouldn't drain), no body wash, no bathrobes in the room, and a defective television. Someone came up to "fix" the tub but it still wouldn't drain in the morning, and when we called down again the front desk tells us they're aware the tub isn't working and it needs a bigger fix. So they waited to tell us/fix the problem until WE called down to complain about it. We are finally switched to another room, but it, too, doesn't have body wash or bathrobes, and now the AC barely works and there is a defective smoke detector that flashes bright green throughout the night. When we call the front desk at 2:30am to let them about the smoke detector and how it's now woken up our 2 year old, instead of offering to fix it or another more feasible solution, we are offered a room change - at 2:30AM with a toddler. Ridiculous! The next morning, we stood around for at least 15 minutes before a valet attendant even acknowledged us to ask if we were waiting for our car even though we stood right in front of several guys just standing around chatting with each other. It was only when my husband pulled out his wallet that someone looked our way and offered to assist. So FAR from relaxing - choose elsewhere for your stay!

Treat me like family, its my spot. They take very good care of me and my young ones

My family and I were in town from Orlando for the Justin Timberlake concert on 6/14 & due to a little hiccup, I was upgraded to a corner junior suite with a connecting double queen room… the water view was phenomenal! Lots of boats passing by each day and gorgeous view at night with the reflection of the lights in the water. The pool was okay, nothing spectacular, but worked for a cool down… there isn’t any shade over the pool so be sure to take a hat and lots if sunscreen! The only thing that sucked was that there was no self parking option. Only a $45 per day valet service or park in a nearby garage for $36 a day. The food from the hotel restaurant needs work. The food just wasn’t good at all. Other than this, Lindsey & Nadia were the sweetest and made our stay wonderful.

This hotel was lame. The Westin used to be a reliable brand but it really seemed like they let this place go to get ready to be acquired by Marriott. Room carpet was gross. Pool was small and pool staff blasted inappropriate music with a pool full of little kids. Wish I would have read more closely about it before selecting this place. Boats were allowed to blasts thumping music till 10p every night.
