Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse

We arrived very late due to a delayed flight and were greeted warmly and quickly checked in so we could get to sleep. On the second night, our A/C wasn't keeping up and they promptly moved us to a new room and gave us complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. The service throughout the hotel and its restaurant was wonderful. The original marble and reused courtroom desks/furniture were really neat. You also get free passes to the local art museum, which was a nice walk and morning excursion for our family. Comfortable beds, nice bath products. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Marriott, is this the level of service customers should expect from your brand? Starting with my favorite incident, my wife did not have her key to our room coming back from a friend’s wedding. I was asleep and did not hear her knocking. She went to the front desk, and they gave her a key to the room. While I’m glad she was able to get in, my wife and I do not have the same last name and she was not on the reservation, any random woman could have claimed to be my wife, next thing I know, I wake up in a bathtub with a missing kidney… This is an unbelievable lapse in security, someone from the staff should have gone with her, not just give out keys without verifying. That makes the rest of the issues seem mundane. Do not disturb sign means do not disturb, not please start knocking on my door at 8am on a Saturday to offer me towels, not just one time, but multiple times. Abysmal restaurant service, no water after asking 3-4 times, the server could not answer basic questions about the menu, items ordered and not received, charged for items we did not order, multiple messed up orders (table of 5), couldn’t any of the issues fixed because staff what never to be found, ended up paying for an incorrect bill because we got tired of waiting for someone to show up and fix it.
