There was a massive religious convention happening which led to over-crowding. I had to get all of my luggage and the luugage of my 3 kids and wife and take it up 15 floors on my own. Rooms had an interesting, old motel smell to them. Almost like they remodeled the bathrooms and left the rooms the same. It smelled like it wasn't cleaned which makes sense with the amount of overcrowding. The only highlight was the valet who was working endlessly to get cars out of the lot. If you are staying for a convention then this might be for you. If not, I would look elsewhere.

We arrived in time for the welcome gathering/cocktail hour. We enjoyed a drink from the bar and some finger foods after checking in. The pool was open late which was awesome because my kids were looking forward to swimming. The rooms are spacious and a two Queen bed bedroom was perfect for a family of four. The kids went to sleep earlier in the evening and we sat on the other side of the bathroom in the little living room side of the suite to watch TV without impacting them. (There were TVs on both sides)
In the morning we went down right at the time breakfast started which was a huge must. It got busy quick. So many open options for everyone and an omelette station. We would definitely stay here again.
The one complaint, which is not the hotel's fault, the valet service at checkout was horrible. We used the service ticket to text for the car and headed down a few minutes later. Mind you, we got downstairs 30 minutes earlier than my planned departure time. Not only did the valet not get our car during that 30 minutes, it took about 45 minutes and we were almost late for a reservation we had at the zoo. The one thing this entire trip was planned around! Valet said my keys were moved to another location and it took a few people to get them to the runner so he could get the car out for us. Bad experience!

This is a good and very convenient hotel. It’s a bit on the older side and needs some sprucing up. The carpet in the room is old and needs substantial deep cleaning. The bathroom could have been cleaner as well. Breakfast was excellent, with nice options for a small child and food in their restaurant was good too. Overall pleased with the stay.

Every one was ridiculously awesome, from the parking attendant to the bartender to guest service, just amazing. The hotel was exactly phenomenal looking as described in pictures. The room couldn’t have been more perfect, plenty of space for a family. Free drinks was a superb discovery. And complimentary breakfast had to be the best hotel food period. Made to order omelets. Boom. Loved my time. Wish I didn’t have to leave. Gonna be ruined using another hotel chain.

Breakfast was well run and facility was clean. The pool was on the smaller side but great for the kids. Great location in Tampa and walkable to the riverwalk and convenient to the streetcar/trolley.
We parked in the convention center and they should make guests aware that's an option if they don't wish to valet as there is a walkway bridge.

Parking was a nightmare and we had to circle three times to get into the turning lane for the valet only garage. Even a Tampa Police officer who was helping for the nearby hockey game told us this was the worst valet in the city. We were given a key tag to scan in the morning when we were ready to leave.
While checking in, we were told we would be getting our king size suite that we had reserved and I even explained that it was a birthday weekend away without the children so we were just excited about not having them, and wanted the big bed. Rob assured me that he understood and got me a nice room that was not a city view but a Bayview. We were surprised when we went into the room and saw that it had two queen beds. The room was somewhat clean as we are always meticulous about wiping things down anyway, but it was stuffy. My husband turned the AC to 65 to try and cool it down and the front room got icy cold but the back room did not. The mattress was too soft and we were sweating most of the night. Breakfast was delicious and exceptional! When we were ready to check out, we tried scanning the valet key tag and several times got an error and was told to go to the valet booth. We waited 20 minutes to speak to the attendant and then another 20 before our car was brought to us. Many of the guests were also feeling the frustration and some were even told that their car was ready through the app when in fact it was not. We will not be booking with Embassy ever again.

It’s an atrium style hotel, which I never recommend! It’s so unbelievably noisy! All the sound from all the hallways and lobby echo all through amplify in your room. Friday night so many people are gathered down in the lobby talking and drinking still at 11:50 at night!!! It was completely impossible to sleep. I called the front desk and they said they are in the process of breaking it up now. Now? It’s 11:50pm! So they don’t have quiet hours. Then it doesn’t really matter because the hotel itself is not sound proof at all from the outside. On the 12th the street is still so loud. And I’ve stayed in NYC, I know it’s possibly to sound proof a hotel from the street noise. The bed is literally as hard as the floor. They have the crappiest room service menu, a burger, the smallest salad ever, chicken tenders, tuna tacos and spicy chicken sandwich! That’s it! And it’s like fast food quality. But it’s not fast. There’s no ledge for shaving your legs in the shower and it’s very slippery. Also they seem to shut off the controls to the AC at night. I kept turning it to AC mode or down and it would instantly switch back. It was incredibly hot in the room. The point of the suit is so I can close my door and stay up while my child sleeps in the other room. Well you can’t sleep with the door closed, it turns into a sauna!!! So to sum it up…it’s loud, uncomfortable bed and hot making it impossible to sleep well. Which is literally the point of a hotel.

Came with family to stay night before a cruise and would stay again. Free trolley stops right in front of hotel. Pool is small but heated and kids loved it.
