I took my wife and 3-year-old for a nice family vacation at what I thought would be a very nice hotel for the money we paid. I ended up somewhat disappointed. Within the first hour, we were on the verge of demanding a refund and going somewhere else. The bad - The parking decks are across the street, and you can only load on the third floor (which is impossible to get a spot on because everyone knew this). We couldn't find any help to unload, or any carts because the staff were using them to unload a truck. Most of the staff was just plain rude or unhelpful. There was construction going on in the actual walkways on every floor of the parking deck, and you literally have to walk a quarter mile to get to your room every single time you come or go anywhere. Also, the wait on the elevators to get to your room or back down to the lobby or beach was sometimes up to 20 minutes and we were only on the sixth floor. I heard it was up to 45 minutes for the upper floors. The overall layout of the hotel is confusing and badly planned. The good - the room was very nice overall, had a nice full-size kitchen with nice appliances, and a decent bathroom. There was a beautiful view of the beach from the balcony. The floor was Very filthy (our feet were black after 1 walk across the room), but everything else was clean. Overall, I would recommend waiting until construction is completed before staying there. Also, they need to hire friendlier help and do something about the elevator problems.

Our experience at the Wyndham Resort was wonderful. We were there with our daughter , son-in-law and two grand children. There is some confusion and walking involved to and from parking, rooms and elevators but we all need to walk more. If you are looking for a relaxing time at the beach and pool you will find it there. The room was better than expected with a beautiful view of the beach. They were still under some construction but it didn't interfer with us. The staff was great and accommodating. The area around is not nearly as commercialized as Destin. It is a beach town with plenty to do. We had a great time and would definitely go back.

Our condo that we rented was beautiful and had everything you could image. The problem is with the amenities that were advertised as being as this resort. I guess it is now known as Wyndam Resorts. When you check in it is very confusing as Emerald Beach customers and Wyndam Resort residents check in at different areas. Also, the set up of going to your room is crazy. You take an elevator to the ground floor then go through some doors and take another elevator up to your room. There is no fitness facility built, three pools had just opened, which were nice, tight security at the pools, and I mean tight! There is a Starbucks which is across the skybridge and down an escalator. There is no Game Room, there is no Lazy River. They still have two pools under construction. One is built, but is not safe to swim in. Although the view is beautiful and right on the beach. But if you are looking for something for your kids to do if it is raining, you are out of luck. By the way, no Sports Bar, it is now a Martini Bar with six plasma tvs, which do not work. Lovely condo, but would not stay again.

Although this was a quick 4th of July trip for us, we had a great time. The hotel is located alittle to the west of the main strip where the kid activities are (mini golf, go carts, fair rides, etc.) but this just made the trip more enjoyable. There is still plenty to do around the hotel and you are just short distance from Pier Park which has alot of shopping and dinning places. Part of the hotel is still under contruction, however it is the part that is across the street by the parking garage. I have been to Panama many times and I have stayed in many different hotels, this is by far one of the best. We stayed in a one bedroom standard which sleeps 6. There is the king size bed in the bedroom, two built in bunk beds in the hall and also the queen size sofa bed. The only draw back to the room was that the only bathroom access is through the bedroom, although it really wasn't that big of deal. The Hotel pictures are exactly what my room looked like, white comforter and all. The pool is also great!! very warm and the staff will not allow people to come down early and throw towels on chairs to save. The only draw back to the pool is that it closes at 10:00pm and guest are not allowed to just sit around it. Those of you with small children save your money on go carts, the hotel has a weekly activies list to help keep you and your children entertained.

Our stay had great aspects (like seeing how beautiful, tastefully furnished, and large our condo unit was) and negative aspects (like only one bathroom which had to be accessed through the master bedroom....read that as disruptions to sleep & privacy!). We also were not advised in advance of the stay....nor upon check-in, that there would be construction going on in the building from 10 - 6 every day! We were out a lot, but napping was out of the question. Just felt the construction should have been mentioned. Pluses are friendly staff, spacious & comfortably decorated furnished rooms, the warmest heated pool I've ever swam in (a trip saver during a day of cool temps and rain!), and a hot tub a couple degrees below boiling. Beach right in front of the building, and all units have balconies overlooking PCB. Very grand. Cons are the labyrinthian travels necessary to get from the parking garage on the North side of Front Beach Road over to one's assigned room in the tower on the beach side of the road. I got a lot of walking in; with some slow elevator response times, I also got in quite a few stairs. Also, this is a time-share resort; you'll be invited to a briefing on info regarding their schtick. I'd recommend this resort highly to families, it's far enough West down the beach to get away from the bulk of the hootin' 'n hollerin' of Spring Breakers. Washer/dryer combo in the units is wonderful to have with family travel...no wet bathing suits for starters. I liked the unit, pool, and beach; however, due to the labyrinthian travel between places in the hotel, I'll keep looking for better.
