My family and I were looking for somewhere to stay before our reservations in Key West the following day. The Sunset Inn was perfect! Our room was spacious and clean. The grounds and pool were also well-kept. We would definitely stay here again!!

Front desk could have catered less that a group of 15 kids had every chair and both tables the entire pool basically over took the whole space! Toilet leaked and smelled like sewer ants everywhere and had to call about a cockroach. Not ideal and not relaxing at all. Disappointed

Traveled with our children for a family vacation. And had an amazing stay at Sunset Inn. The pool is phenomenal. Breakfast at Mangrove Mikes & dinner at Lorelei’s definitely. Rooms were just right for us. Staff so helpful giving us ideas for things to do, but we didn’t want to leave the pool!

Pool is very nice and well kept. Rooms are spacious and tasteful. However, it is located very close to the road and is a bit noisy. Also I was surprised that there was mini fridge but no microwave- disappointing to mother with small child, seems like minimal expense to have these in rooms.

The room allocated to me had bugs all over the floor which was promptly changed but then the next room given was not ready. The lady on the front desk quickly apologized and gave us an adjoining room. The rooms bathrooms was small for our requirements. The staff were friendly and kind but the properly is not upto the mark. The staff also offered to waive of some 11 dollar fee and said she would check and see what else she could do cover up for the mistake but I didn’t care much then as we were glad to get the room and kids wanted to get into the pool which was nice.. overall an ok experience .. could have been better.

Very nice property and would definitely go back. Its older but very well maintained. Rooms are very spacious. Very clean and the staff are very helpful. Would highly recommend this property especially for the price. Will be coming back with my family next year.

Hotel is a well-kept older property. Rooms were very clean but we did encounter a centipede in ours - but it's Florida, that can happen. Having a pool on site is a big plus. While I did not use it, I noticed there were picnic areas with tables and gas grills that would be very helpful for a family stay. There were some steps up to our unit that were painted dark gray and potentially trip/stumble hazards in the dark. Otherwise fine and the next door restaurant/cafe was great with good food in very hearty portions.

We checked in as a family of five in two rooms. The process was seamless and we were really happy with the service we received at reception. The room was perfect for what we needed. We wanted to use the sunset inn as a ‘base’ to explore Islamorada and the Keys. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we found that we could have spent the whole day in the hotel using the excellent child friendly pool and amenities. This was a real find and attractively priced. Top tip given to us by reception, check out Lorelei restaurant, just 5 minutes walk from the hotel for the best food and views of the sunset.

I want to start off by saying I travel most summers for over 30 days each trip. This was the most frustrating stay I have had in over 20 years of travel. 25ish teens were staying to work on the coral. They were not managed by the chaperones. It was like a frat party. The kids totally took over. I talked to the front desk several times and nothing happened. The worst part was dealing with the manager who was rude to me and told me she wasn't in charge of other people's behavior and I was not to be given a refund for the upcoming night as I had requested. Basically she told me to deal with it. I told her that she had allowed the first party to happen and that it was disappointing that she was going to let the kids take over. I teach middle school and I am not a hater for kids. I was there with me 3 kids were being exposed to lewd behavior and language.

Great little property for our quick one day stay in Islamorada. The room was super clean and nicely appointed. The kids really enjoyed the pool area. It was clean and had plenty of loungers, ping pong table and a big chess game. Highly recommend this property for a quick stay.
