La Jolla Resort

We love this place one of the hotels we always book at. Highly recommend for families and adults

I enjoyed staying at La Jolla. Similar to what my family would stay at when I was a child. The room was comfortable and clean.

The property was beautiful and quaint. The pool was nice and the views of the water were beautiful. We loved all of the options we had to do there, lounge by the water, use the kayaks, the hammocks were great. The room was very nice and clean and it smelled great. The location was great and close to a lot of restaurants and shops, even though the construction in the area made it hard to get in and out of the parking lot. We had a good time here. Our only complaints were that the bed was hard and lumpy, the water pressure was really weak, and our room had a major sugar ant problem. We couldn't leave any food on the counter because it was attacked by a ton of sugar ants. Also, when we opened up the sofa bed for the kids to sleep on, the linens were still on it from the last guests and there was a dirty towel with a bunched up sheet in the bed. There weren't any extra linens and there wasn't an extra blanket for the sofa bed either. Luckily my kids brought their own blankets and we made it work because the office was closed by this time.

We made a last minute decision to go to the Keys after our flights were cancelled on 12/25 and 12/26. This was a 1950’s type of resort that was really cute and comfortable for our family of 4. We loved sitting out back gazing at the water and even doing a little fishing.

Very family oriented place to stay. We had our 6 month old and we were very comfortable. There was not a lot to do local but the resort offered plenty of things to keep busy. We will definitely be back and will bring our boat next time.

This is an old hotel with pods of rooms on the property. The rooms have been remodeled and most, if not all, have kitchens or kitchenettes. My room(s) were super clean and the kitchenettes helped save money. This resort is right on the Ocean Hwy, so traffic is pretty much non-stop during the day and night. I was assigned Room K which is closest to the highway and I got very little sleep the 1st night. But they were kind enough to move me to Room H and it was much better. The sandy beach and fishing dock and the furnishings there along with the palm trees were wonderful and afforded a wonder view of the sunset each night. The snorkeling from the dock is very good and would make this a great choice for those traveling with children. I saw barracuda, grunts, angelfish, parrot fish and we had a visit from a family of manatee’s one day. This is a real benefit if you’ve planned a snorkeling vacation and the boats are stuck at home due to bad weather. In summary, La Jolla is old, but it is very nice, affordable and offers really good amenities. I’ll be back with my grandchildren one day.
