ABAE Hotel by Eskape Collection

Friendly staff, clean room. Easy access to public transportation. Has on site valet, can always chance it for a free parking spot, but it’s Miami so good luck ;). We had a great experience! Very quiet hotel which is perfect, didn’t have to listen to children running up and down hallways or late night door slamming!!

What a wonderful hotel. Staff were excellent, reception and breakfast staff especially. Super helpful and kind. The hotel is very clean, neat and tidy. The rooms were excellent and so roomy. Pool are was great. Breakfast had plenty of variety and the excellent staff kept it immaculate and well replenished. Would recommend 100%. Thank you for a great family stay.

I’ve stayed here twice now because I need to be able to prepare my own meals when I travel and having a place to do so is my main priority. The interior of the building is not very well maintained. Both times I wound up purchasing cleaning supplies and going through the room because the room wasn’t up to a standard I’m comfortable with. They douse everything in overpowering fragrance, so if you get migraines, don’t even consider booking here. The hotel is moderate at best, and is outrageously overpriced for what you get. They also don’t refund the $200 deposit. So plan accordingly in your budget to either lose the money or have to dispute the charges If you’re willing to deep clean, a kitchen is worth the trade off for absolutely no luxury if allergies, celiac, etc are factors in your travel plans There is no sound proofing of any kind and they start housekeeping services by vacuuming the halls before 8am. It’s ridiculous how much noise that makes. If there’s a baby on your hall, you’ll be aware of every single time it cries. If your neighbor uses the shower or toilet, you’ll hear it. Hope that the people above you take their shoes off, or you’ll be acutely aware of every move The washer/dryer is a steam unit. Your laundry will take 4-6 hours.

We've stayed at Abae in the past and some previous problems haven't gotten fixed. We had a lot of problems getting hot water for showers, as did 2 other families staying at the hotel on the same days we did. The only consistently hot water for showering was at 6 am. This was not a one day/one time problem, this was every day during our stay at various times throughout the day & night. The bathroom sink in was REALLY slow to drain, the towel rack above the toilet was falling away from the wall. There was no bottom sheet - just a regular sheet that kept getting untucked. The location is good for stocking up on food (Whole Foods and Trader Joe's close by) as there is a well stocked mini kitchen. There is NO parking at the hotel which makes loading and unloading luggage difficult. The hotel entrance is actually on 12th Ave, not West Ave as the address indicates. The pool area could benefit from a real cleaning, not just a daily hose down, as the cushions are mildewy. The 2 gentlemen working at the front desk were super helpful and went above and beyond to help us. The lobby purposely has some kind of strong smell that is very uncomfortable for those allergic to or sensitive to strong smells. The bathroom lacks a retractable clothes line across the shower to hang wet bathing suits & towels. There's a pool & the beach is only about a mile walk away so lots of wet things. The a/c vent was leaking even tho we only had the a/c set to 78 degrees. Not a great experience overall.
