The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

Excellent location. Superb beach access. Multiple dining options. Different attractions. Planning on bringing my family back soon

We stayed for 4 days and each day was a battle for parking. We had to park far away from where our building was. They do have plenty of luggage cart unlike other places. Upon entering the room everything was neat and clean out balcony had enough room for us. The tv was very hard to connect the chromecast feature to and would not stay connected which was a little irritating. You can’t connect an HDMI cord because the tv is mounted. The microwave and mini fridge in the room sucked but we barely used them. The shower design is a little weird. The pool is weird as well. It goes from 4 ft to 8 ft to 10 ft then back to 4ft. No lifeguard on duty either so pay attention to younger kids. The only thing I would change is getting an ocean view room next time. This place is great for a 4 day trip or less and everyone is super sweet. My biggest issue was the parking but overall no big issues and the easy beach access is very convenient

The rooms decor is dated, the wallpaper is ripping off the wall. Be prepared to listen to annoying music until 11p. The pool area is crowded, and full of children that are unattended. The elevator is slow, hot, and smelled constantly of chlorine and/or weed. The staircase cannot be used in place of the elevator, because it led to no where. The curtains don’t close completely which didn’t block the morning sun. The shower head is dated, and provided no pressure. The wristband that is provided is expected to be worn around the grounds, yet you have to remove it to reach the tight fitted electronic reader throughout the hallways. The best thing about this room was the decent sized TV, and being able to see the ocean (partially).

We had a great time n Micky the pirate and his buddy were a big hit...the kids loved them... really no complaints except the parking fiasco.. gotta work on that!! N could have some kind of complimentary breakfast... didn't buy breakfast at all at the resort! Otherwise it was a great vacation!!! Will definitely stay again next year!!💜💚💛

Everything was great. The room was a little small and had no closet and only a couple drawers to put personal items in but overall was good. A couple times the grotto pool was dirty and had unidentified things floating in it and garbage on the bottom of the pool. The cabana pool was awesome and water was warm. The beach area was pretty clean and easy accessible. There were many things to entertain both kids and adults. Food was excellent!

The Island is Amazing! My kids & I played back & forth in their 2 fantastic pools for hours every day, some days for 8 hours & it just flew by we had such a wonderful time! They have the very best beach chairs & large sturdy umbrellas & their beach is so clean & beautiful! We love walking in the water with buckets & watching the colorful treasures wash up as we dive to catch them before the ocean grabs them back (shells we bring home & make frames of for every beach trip we take: every year at The Island since I was in diapers & with my kids since they were in diapers!). We love the remodeling they've done; it’s truly added to the overall experience. The bar off the lobby is open & inviting & they have karaoke which the kids & I love. We do a different song each time & either make it soar or seriously bomb but we laugh & have fun with the other guests & new friends we've made. We love the movie nights in the warmed pool; we can float in the water & smell the ocean air while watching a family favorite- there's no better way to see a movie! We have a big family so we get rooms across from each other on poolside & oceanside which is best bc we love the view of the mountain & falls & the Gulf. We love The Island & it's a home away from home! We travel many places but The Island is always on the books each summer bc so many of our most cherished memories were made there!

I loooved this place and the pool! Perfect for families and those looking to relax and get away. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Only two negatives, the property was dated but impeccably cleaned and the parking was a nightmare. Once you had a good spot it was hard to justify moving. I will be back!

We loved this resort! The pirates did magic and balloon animals, and mermaid Misty made an appearance. All of this was a hit with our children. We enjoyed the drinks and the location of the beach. The breakfast was fantastic. Perfect family vacation spot!
