TownePlace Suites by Marriott Fort Walton Beach-Eglin AFB

I booked this hotel for adventure to crab island. Checkout time was at 12 noon and check in was at 4pm. I was hoping to checkin by 1:15pm. We had kids which crab island is inappropriate. We arrived at the hotel 11:15am hoping to get check by 1:15pm. Which would have been courtesy. Front desk staff knew we had a 1:40pm boat paid for as well. We was the only family waiting at this time. 4pm still no room ready. Lost $400 for boat rental and $400 for room wasted time and money. Traveled 8 hours back home upset.Young lady at the desk was careless about others. Requested refund. Beautiful hotel heartless staff.

This hotel is infested with roaches. The staff doesn't seem to care. A bug crawled on my infant.

We arrived to visit family for Christmas. We were told we would have to turn the heater on in the room upon arrival. It was 28 degrees outside this day. We entered the room and immediately turned the heater on, unpacked a weeks worth of clothes and left because it was still too cold in the room. We came back an hour later and the room was still just as cold. I went to the lobby and told the receptionist that our heat didn’t work, she said she wasn’t surprised and that no one had stayed in that room for a while. She then gave me keys to the room next door. After packing all of our belongings we moved into that room. The hotel was not even at half occupancy. They gave us a room with a parking lot view. The other side of the hall where No one was staying has a view of the Choctawhattchee bay. Shortly there after the elevators stopped working. We were on the third floor and forced to use the stairs for the entire 5 days of our visit. They didn’t make it right and even had the audacity to offer us a small space heater for the first room. People don’t book hotels for vacations to use small space heaters. 0 stars

Customer service representative was friendly, I went to Florida to celebrate my waiting anniversary with my wife. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience while sitting in the pool area, we and another family saw a big rat running on top of the wall and gate to enter pool and disappear into the bushes. We immediately left the pool and outdoor area and went back to our room. Front desk representative was notified. Also, there’s no android phone chargers anywhere within the hotel or our room. I had to sit in my car to charge my phone. The outdoor tables and sitting areas were duty, unable to eat breakfast outside
