Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Dover, an IHG Hotel

Short trip for a family event, but a great stay at Holiday Inn Express in Dover. Clean rooms and main area, complimentary breakfast (hot food options), quiet, safe and near lots of places to eat and some shopping areas.

My wife and I had a family emergency and had to book last minute last week. The entire staff was very friendly, customer service professionals and the entire hotel was very clean. The manager helped with the rate after hearing that we were there because my brother was in ICU . The manager slipped a card under the door that we received when we came back. We will be writing a letter to her and the corporate office thanking them for the great services that we received. I am going back next month for my brother's birthday/service because he unfortunately didn't survive. I wanted to go back to the same hotel because the customer service was 5 stars throughout the entire place. The room was very nice, up to date, clean and quiet. The bed wasn't sagging and it was very comfortable. Yes i would highly recommend staying here and i would not hesitate to stay here either. They went above and beyond my expectations !

Overall my family and I enjoyed our one night stay at this property. Check-in was quick and painless. We could hear barking, but it wasn’t unbearable. A huge thank you to the front desk clerk for being so kind to accommodate me when I needed to return to the room after checkout because I’d left my phone.

Got here earlier than expected and they were able to accommodate me and family for an earlier check in. It was very much appreciated after a 16 car ride:) Thank you!

We had issues with getting a satisfactory room. The hotel was in a state of renovation and very busy the weekend we arrived. We were suppose to have King Bed Suite, when we arrived at the room it had a double bed in it. We went back to the front desk and stated it was not a king bed. At first the desk clerk (Devontay) did not believe us, but gave us a King Size Jr Suite, which we could not open the door it was stuck. Devontay came up and wrestled the door open and their was no sleeper sofa or space to put a roll out bed for our children. He then went back to the original room and verified that the bed was a double. We ended up in a double queen jr suite with a pull out sofa. The room had an arched window that the curtains did not go all the way to the top. An outside street light spread its cheer into our room all night. We awoke early 5:00 am to the sun streaming in and lighting up the room. We eventually stuffed a pillow into the open space to block some of the sunlight. Before we left for the day we went to the front desk to see if the issue could be resolved while we were out for the day. We were assured it would be taken care of, so we left. When we returned that evening nothing had been addressed, we ended up moving rooms again. This time we got a Junior King room with a pull out couch. Brand new couch had to physically remove wire holding bed in, to get it to work. Hotel renovations were lacking in actually being fully functional.

Great hot breakfast, pleasant staff, McDonald's is also right beside the property. It is in renovations but it didn't take away from the hotel. We came up from SC to visit family and we will stay at this hotel again

I felt safe. Service was great and a lot of folks visting the same local event used the hotel. Bathroom grew a little stinky on day 2. Snelled like "baby poo."
