Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach, an IHG Hotel

We had a great time at this hotel. Rooms were very nice and beds were extremely comfortable. All staff besides 1, was pleasant to our family. Max, who was working the front desk, was rude and very short with not only us but everyone we saw him come in contact with. Only negative thing!

Will definitely return! Hotel staff were very efficient, rooms were clean with great views and in a great location. Loved its amenities with outdoor gathering firepit spots and food options. Traveling with littles, noticed it was family friendly.

We loved the piano bar. They were an excellent addition to our holiday celebration and family get together. Our stay was comfortable and very enjoyable.

My family and I had such a fun stay! Our room had an ocean view and we caught the most amazing sunset. We had breakfast the next morning at Moofish- the service and food were great!

It’s our go-to spot when visiting family in Ventura County. Amazing views from with a view or from down on the beach. Easy access to freeways and shipping. Hotel restaurant and bar are great!

The good. It is nice to be in a hotel that is right by the water. We were glad to to take a walk with our doodle and enjoy the beautiful December morning with the stream of local joggers and walkers along the wave line. The breakfast in-house at Moofish was the highlight of our trip. It was hot, fresh, and thoughtfully present with good flavor. What was an unpleasant in our stay began with a surprise that this hotel has a non-refundable $75 per fee. Such fees can feel more like a pet punishment in what is supposed to be a pet “friendly” location. The second issue in our stay was noise. Our family of three includes a ten year old and we were surprised when very, very loud music began directly below us in the hotel bar/outdoor patio. We did not see any other families with a child much less a dog and why they thought it would be appropriate to place us in a room this close to the amped up music was baffling. We ended up packing and moving to another room just before 10pm. Management offered no consolation for what was a considerable inconvenience, and did not reach out after we asked them to. This hotel is frankly neither dog friendly nor family friendly.

Clean property, perfectly on the beach. The restaurant server was a bit over the top with his jokes, upsetting the kids actually. Limited food options and extremely tiny rooms with a literally see through bathroom door and a long wait for the elevators

Not a good stay for families for of a hookup hotel with staff who couldn’t care less about complaints or concerns. We stayed in a room facing the pool right on the ledge next to the restaurants roof. There was a homeless person who was on the roof (right outside our balcony) around midnight. I was staying there with my toddler, who’s to say they wouldn’t try to open the balcony doors of the rooms? The homless person left a bag of trash and an old pillow with puke and blood all over it. I called the front desk as soon as I saw it in the morning and nothing was done. I then complained at checkout and they simply blamed it on the drunk wedding guests. Why would they be on the roof with old dirty pillows? Liliana at the front desk was rude and couldn’t care less about the gross and possible dangerous situation.

Ocean view room with balcony. Balcony had two chairs and small table. Room was comfortable and clean. Small bathroom with limited counter space. Valet parking rate $18 or self-park available. I did valet which was fast and easier with a small child. Key card secure elevators. Ventura County Fairgrounds 2-3 mins from hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy check-in.

Pros- beach view, comfortable beds, rooms decent size for family, friendly and helpful staff. Cons- restaurant not open as posted in the evening, outdoor fire pit not lit either night we stayed there. Biggest con is the freeway noise- not able to hear the beach waves or stay on balcony long. Price too high.
