I paid a lot of money for an ocean view so I could just sit n relax n enjoy the view n enjoy the cool weather compared to the 116° back home. The whole afternoon the people next door their kids were running around screaming inside n out in front of my patio ruining my time n then the shrubs in front of my patio was blocking a majority of my view of the ocean. My last stay was amazing the hotel itself is great just the limited view for this particular room then the annoying kids screaming made the trip not worth it

On our way back from LA we decided to add in a tour of the Hearst Castle. Staying at this hotel which was only 5 miles away was the best decision we made. Greeted with a friendly smile and the keys we headed to our room. Large game pieces for Chess, Checkers, and Tic-Tac-Toe were calling our competitive family spirit. After settling in we wandered over to the Sea Lion Visitors Center next door. The guide was helpful in not only telling us about where to watch the sea lions, giving us tips on local places to eat dinner. To our surprise, as we came back to get ready we had a knock at the door and a complimentary bottle of wine was handed to us. After dinner, we headed back under wet weather thinking we would not be able to use the fire pits. Not so, we bundled up with a blanket from the car and a glass of wine and headed down to a roaring blaze that kept us warm. We have decided to come back this summer and reserve one of the rooms with the rocking chairs facing the sunset. Thank you for a lovely night.

It was a nice experience just wish I wasn’t placed next to a family with dogs. went on vacation to get away from my dogs and my kids and ended up being up half the night because of the dogs that were below us. And we got an expensive room. Besides that it was a good experience.

We stayed here last year which prompted a return visit. Our check in experience was terrible and the younger gentleman at the desk checking us in was rude. His name was either Manny or Anthony. He clearly needs to work on his customer service skills. LACKING FOR SURE. Thankfully a woman helped us and was very understanding. The property is amazing and the rooms are very comfortable. I just wish the rooms had microwaves, they do not. There is a stocked snack drawer and mini fridge, both have locks so your kids don't wipe you out and cost you a fortune. There was a fire at sundown and there is a restaurant on site. No AC, but I guess that part of CA doesn't need it, but we kept the windows open (which got a little loud due the high volume of foot traffic). They do provide a stand up fan in each room. There is a pool that is open and was being used frequently. I highly recommend a stay at this property and I can't wait to go back next year.

Amazing stay, beautiful property, very clean, beautiful view, walking distance to beach, bonfires and activities like jumbo chess, checkers, corn hole. Very quiet but the only dislike I had is the room had a smoke odor although it was lite when you closed your room you can smell it the moment you walk in. The dinner we had 10000% delicious and the quality is A1. Highly recommend this property if your trying to get away or spend time with the kids at the beach

You just can't beat a stay on the beach. Being fully physically capable, the walk to the beach was easy. They have stairs that go down to the beach, but they were closed.
The staff was pleasant and responsive, even though I did get upset that we had to try 4 different refrigerator keys before one would work consistently. But this was the only issue we had with our stay, no big deal.
Speaking of the refrigerator key, I was surprised to find that the food and drinks that are in the refrigerators are decently priced, even retail value.
I used the fitness room and found the machines to be modern and well-maintained. We also used the pool and jacuzzi by the fitness room, and enjoyed them immensely!
There are tide pool on either side of the beach, so if you or your kids like collecting shells, we found some excellent ones! My son also found a sea star (starfish). Of course we left the little one alone.
The hotel room was clean and came with everything you might need, although we did have to ask for soap and lotion, which was delivered right away.
San Simeon is known for it's elephant seals which lay out a few miles north of the resort. Cambria which is a few miles south, has very cute little shops, restaurants and cafes. Enjoy your stay!

Why I go here - beautiful view. Wonderful to sleep with the ocean waves, as it’s in a perfect spot. The restaurant and the whole staff is incredible. I love the room service. I love the staff. I sleep so well here. It’s very romantic. It’s right by Hearst Castle. It’s quiet most of the time.
There’s also a fireplace which is wonderful. They will keep you fully stocked for the fireplace.
Simply an amazing staff. Sleep like a baby.
love this hotel, but it seriously needs to be updated. The furniture from the 70’s has to go.
