Sea Otter Inn

This property is so adorable and I am wishing I were there right now! Our room had two queens and enough space that we were able to be comfortable with two adults and our two adult kids. We were there at a warmer time of year, but there is a fireplace in the room and I imagine that is super cozy on chillier days. This hotel is right across the street from Moonstone Beach and waking up to an easy beach walk was the start to a perfect day. This is a small property and they take breakfast orders in advance and Deliver your breakfast in a cute little picnic basket to a hanger outside your door. We checked in late and they actually texted me and gave me our breakfast options so they could be sure to have breakfast for us in the morning. Coffee and tea can be made in the room so you really can get up and hit the beach without leaving the property for any reason. I really appreciate that they took the time to get our breakfast order because it made the day so much nicer. I will definitely be back to this beautiful beach and this adorable property!

Our family takes this trip to Cambria in October on or around the 29th and 30th in honor of our parents who loved this place. They celebrated their birthdays every year in Cambria, staying in Moonstone beach at The Sea Otter Inn most often. Our stay is about getting together and remembering them.

My family and I were supposed to stay at the Sea Otter Inn on Friday, September 8, 2023. After checking in, we discovered that our room was horribly dirty and there was no way we were going to sleep there. We ended up not staying at the hotel because the room was so dirty. There were crumbs along the TV stand, the rug between beds had crumbs and stains, the shower/bathroom was dirty, and the floor was sticky. We immediately went back into the office and told the gentleman at the front desk about the issue. He apologized and told me he would mention it to housekeeping. He never offered us a different room, a walk through to see our issue, or an offer to switch rooms. When I asked about a refund, he told me to go through Hotels.com. I later found out that Hotels.com had nothing to do with it since we paid the Sea Otter directly. I was told I should contact Angel, the manager. After several days, I did hear back from Angel, but he was rude and dismissive. Although I do understand that different people have different standards of cleanliness. My biggest issue is that when I brought up the issue with the front desk attended, he NEVER offered to give us another room or have it cleaned again. It was as if this happened all the time! And when I spoke to Angel, he basically called me a liar, told me that his employee did offer me another room, and I denied it. That NEVER happened. Every single correspondence with them has ended up in zero assistance! NEVER AGAIN!

My husband and I went on a weekend getaway trip. We love Cambria and always stay at The Sea Otter Inn. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the fireplace makes it very warm and homey. Breakfast comes to the room in a basket each morning from your selection the day before. The fire pits are a nice gathering place for families or friends as well. Of course it is also only steps away from the Moonstone Beach walking trail and it’s magnificent views. Staying at The Sea Otter Inn was a tradition for my parents for many years on their birthdays and I am so grateful they introduced us to this lovely place.

Had family business to attend to, and may be the last time I visit Cambria, so I wanted a memorable location. The inn was everything I expected, and more.

Our family gathered in celebration of our parents birthdays. It was a tradition for our parents to celebrate their birthdays (one day apart) at the Sea Otter Inn in Cambria when they were alive. They past 2 October’s their children and grandchildren have picked up the tradition. We all love gathering another fire pits, enjoying the sunsets and the night air.

Loved our stay, so quiet and service was above and beyond. Other family members stayed down the road and were jealous of our accomedations and service and price.

Our family had such a lovely time at the Sea Otter Inn. The staff was welcoming, accommodating and very professional. The room was very clean, bright and cozy! The pool and hot tub were wonderful additions of fun to our stay. And the breakfasts were so special, delivered to our door in picnic baskets and scrumptious! The location to the ocean was fabulous, a moonstone’s throw away… We are definitely coming back for another family fun trip!
