Very cool vibe at this hotel especially if you are young or have young kids with you. The hotel has two spaces for gathering. The inside space that serves food and drinks and has multiple screens for sports and games galore. Then there is a serene outdoor space with fire pits and comfy chairs and couches and giant sized scrabble board in the wall and a massive light brite game along with other games to play. You really don’t see that much given our obsession with electronics as a society so if you are looking for a nice hotel in San Luis Obispo, CA that’s fun and hip Check it out

The front desk personnel were always friendly. The restaurant was ok. Food good, but service was a tad slow and at first not very helpful. My granddaughters enjoyed spending time in the Schoolyard patio area. Thank you for creating that space for children and families.

The Kinney is a great place if you're traveling with children. We arrived early in the morning/late (2am) at night and were extremely tired. The front agent Hamed was so kind and made us feel welcome. We felt terrible for disturbing our neighbors going in and out and our baby crying the rest of the morning until she fell asleep. (Weve had worse but we felt bad for the other guests). Nevertheless the Kinney assured us we were ok and not to worry. That made us feel as ease because others are not so kind to us when traveling with our children.

My family and I had a fantastic stay! The staff was awesome, our room was comfortable and so cute, the pool area was clean, and the bar/restaurant was great as well! There are restaurants nearby, and it’s close to downtown SLO. We would definitely stay at the Kinney again!
