El Cordova Hotel on Coronado Island

Wonderful hotel in Coronado. This place is so cute, we loved it. We had a spacious 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen. I could seriously live here. You are steps from shops, restaurants and a short walk to the beach and Hotel Del. Great for a romantic weekend or a family stay. So much character, something I would expect to find in the south of France, Italy or Spain. If you have difficulty with stairs or have small children, book a ground floor. The stairs are steep and there are no elevators. Plenty of free parking if you are willing to park in the neighborhood and walk a little bit. If you expect to park at the hotel, you will be disappointed. The area is very safe so I felt fine parking a few blocks away on the street.

We had the best time! Super spacious suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms perfect for a family. Given the age of the property I was very impressed! Best part was the close walk to Coronado beach and the delicious Mexican restaurant below. Will definitely come back!

The staff was very courteous and helpful. They assisted with parking information and even provided my family and I beach chairs to use while we went to the beach.

This hotel has a cute family feel. Our hotel room was not completely clean when we arrived. Beer cans, empty half and half cups, and bathroom tissue from previous guests was found in bedroom and small balcony. We ultimately chose El Cordova because it said it had a hot tub. The hot tub was not hot for our 3 day stay. We requested the heater be turned on/fixed. The staff was very responsive, but they never did get the hot tub hot. The pool was warm, but still pretty chilly swim without hot tub access. We loved the location of this hotel and the staff and responsiveness was excellent.

So I love Coronado first time staying on the island tho and at first it was perfect the vibes , the restaurant, the staff super friendly, then came the night the people up stairs we having a wild party it seemed like until 4am they were yelling and stomping it sounded like they were wrestling kept waking me and my kids up. Then when went to shower before we left the tub seemed clean except for all the hair someone left behind everywhere that wasn’t very pleasant, overall decent but I wouldn’t stay again. The restaurant staff was stuck up also around 8:45 I went to get a drink to take back to the room and they just didn’t want to do it until one guy stepped I. And said yes we do that and I’ll get it right away for you the other group of servers just started at me like I was bugging them while we waited for our drinks .

Great location, quaint Mexican decor, courtyard a bit noisy as this complex is ideal for families with children. Property well kept but could use minor updates; paint, light fixtures

We had two units for different family members. The 2-bedroom unit ended up being much smaller and less conveniently arranged than the beautiful 1-bedroom we got with a huge living room and dining room, large master & closet and a nice-sized kitchen. However, the 1-bedroom had an awesome balcony looking onto the courtyard, but it was super noisy with restaurant staff singing and playing loud music early in the morning. The kitchens are VERY minimally stocked, lacking things like salt/pepper, etc. Laundry facilities was a nice touch. The hot tub was luke warm at best throughout the stay, which was disappointing. But, overall, this is a darling property.

We love El Cordova and have stayed there several times. The one complaint I have from my last trip was how loud the people were in the room next to us. They woke our entire family and didn’t quiet down even after talking to the front desk. 😒that was a huge disappointment and would have appreciated the hotel making it up to us.

Amazing. We had the best time on our Spring family vacation. Enjoyed Coronado’s restaurants, shops, and beach. All footsteps from your Inn. :) Thank you for the excellent service.

Staff was amazing. Feels like you’re in a Coen Brothers movie. Excellent family time.
