Shadow Mountain Resort

I have to give this place a bad rating. I traveled alone with my three children. The first night we stayed, we were getting ready for bed, and when my kids went to pull out the sofabed, it had a sign saying, “Don’t open Broken.” We had to change rooms at 10 pm, and no staff member offered to help. I had just gone grocery shopping, and the new room did not have a full refrigerator, so most of my groceries went to waste. THEN, as my 5-year-old was sitting on a sofa/chair, he pulled out an OPENED pocket KNIFE that was placed in the cushion facing blade up. I reported all my concerns and brought in the knife, but all I got was an I don’t know how that happened.

I love this place it’s perfect for a mini vacation with family or friends! The rooms are very spacious and you can cook your own foods if you choose to. The pool is huge and it’s nice that you have the poolside bar. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back!

Air conditioning unit was incredibly loud and mechanically noisy. After 3 days, I looked at the air filters on the unit. They were both completely blocked with dust and lint. I cleaned them in the sink and when reinstalled, most of the noise was gone. Showerhead/water pressure was intense. Could not reduce the spray force - like needles on my scalp. A call to the front desk to ask for another showerhead never got a response. A few tiny baby cockroaches in the bathtub every morning. I washed them down the drain but there were more every day. But this was the only place in the room I saw them. Kitchen was clean and bug free.
