Holiday Inn Express Costa Mesa, an IHG Hotel

Still giving the hotel 10/10 since my complaints have nothing to do with the staff, nor our room. Parking isn’t enough for the size of the hotel and the people who are parking in the outside area leave no room for others, often taking 2 spots for a single car. Luckily, they allow you to park near the sidewalk by the room windows across from the designated parking if the parking garage is also full. Sketchy people hanging out near the front benches one of the mornings and a sketchy guy roaming around at night while we were getting our kids out of the car. He didn’t bother us, but it did make us feel slightly uncomfortable. Other than that, our hotel room was clean, nothing was broken. We originally had a room for a double queen, but we requested downstairs (since we have small children and didn’t want people below us complaining if they were running back and forth) and a bathtub, but they were sold out of the bathtub. They upgraded our room for free to make sure we got the bathtub. The hotel was packed, but we didn’t hear any noise at all. With small kids, we are very aware of any type of noise, but didn’t hear a single thing all 3 nights. Our room faced the parking lot, so the fact that we couldn’t hear anything was good. The hotel as a whole seemed clean, staff was friendly, hotel guests were friendly, proximity to the beach is GREAT! I will say, the absolute BEST thing about our stay was the free breakfast. My family and I had a great time at this hotel I definitely want to come back. Is close to the beaches it was easy access, breakfast had plenty of options, I loved the gym it had enough equipment. I loved the Pool! And the staff was nice and friendly. New carpet though out the hallways and beds were nice and comfortable. My husband loved the AC it was nice and cold. And I liked that they had Dove body wash, body lotion, hand wash and conditioner.

Anthony was so accommodating with cookies, water bottles, and extra towels. The breakfast chef was so friendly. There were plenty of breakfast choices for our family. Definitely repeatable!

This a nice property. The rooms were very clean and free parking. The breakfast had many excellent choices to pick from. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again and recommend it to family.
