First time family visit to Disneyland and a Disney hotel. Very much enjoyed the hotel-clean, efficient, friendly, upscale-and the you cannot beat the proximity to the two parks.

The hotel is nice but not worth it for the price. There is nothing special or grand about this hotel to cost that much money for staying. I’m very disappointed. It was our family’s first time staying here but will never come back. I felt like I just threw away some money for nothing. Disney Hotel is way better for the price.

Overall I would say it was not worth the money.
Hotel was clean and close to parks. That was the only nice things.
Lobby was always crowded as anyone could access the hotel. People who were not staying there were sleeping in the lobby.
Bar drinks were terrible, didnt even finish mine.
Breakfast was not worth the price. The 1 omelet bar line was to long, eggs were runny and no toast.
Room was in the worst location near the elevator. You heard wvery screaming kid getting off. Couldnt sleep-

Everything you would expect from a Disneyland Resort hotel. Perfect for a family vacation. It is costly, but this was a bucket list item to stay at the Grand Californian. It was perfect.

You get what you pay for. Yes it’s ridiculously pricey, BUT WOW the convenience of having a Disney park an elevator and 10 steps away is phenomenal. If we had the money, my family would stay here every time! As you would expect, the facilities at this resort are clean and of high quality, but again this is what you’re paying for.

Courtyard/Woods View Room
The Pro's
Hotel is the best location for the Disney parks.
Early park entry is great.
Staff are extremly friendly and helpful.
Bed was very comfortable.
The Con's
Room is dated and confining.
Maid service was only making up the bed - trash cans were left full. Coffee station was not restocked or cleaned.
Cost is significant ($1265 for 2 nights).
Security line is ridiculously long first thing in the morning (maybe add two extra screening lines until 8am).
Use of Disney app for everything makes it impossible for some people to do anything (my parents are a great example - no smart phone).
Restaurants are very expensive ($51/person for brunch buffet is ridiculous).
Advance reservations required for everything (use of app required prior to arrival).
Overall
Much preferred the Disneyland Hotel, from a prior trip. The only real benefit to me was the early park entry - needed for a planned family event.
Other Option
Off-site stay at a named hotel chain would get a park-view room with extra perks.

Staff was very nice and helpful. You can't beat this location as it is right next to CA adventure park and a few minute walk from Disneyland gates. Room was updated and clean. Shower even had a handheld wand which was perfect since I was traveling with a small child.

with 2 kids (4yrs old, 1yr old) the convenience of being next to the park is awesome. Can take a quick break from the park, walk back to the room, rest/refresh/handle any baby malfunctions, then instantly go back at it to the parks... the hotel itself amenities are AWESOME too, especially the pool w/ water slides!

All was well until we arrived to the pool area. We were early, got there by 10 am to secure a good shaded spot for myself and my 6 year old. But as the sun moved our shaded spot became sunny, as I begged for another umbrella I was shot down multiple times. For the high price tag per night, you would THINK they could afford a few extra umbrellas??? But no, we fried….I’m a skin cancer doc, such a danger that is so easily unavoidable. How Disney is it to fry your little ones without a hint of a relief? What an outfit, so limited, could not accommodate. If we had been anywhere else for those rates, we would have been accommodated!
