Holiday Inn Express Oakdale, an IHG Hotel

Quick trip with family Room nice bathroom clean They’re doing some remodeling

The clerk at the desk was very considerate and asked where we would like our room located. There were several guests with kids and wanted us to know in case we wanted a quiet stay.

First room had smelled like cigarettes and had someone's school work in a drawer. I informed front desk (Karan?) and she immediately apologized and offered us another room. We switched rooms and were pleasantly surprised to find a larger room and bathroom. Super comfortable beds and love the pillows ( 2 options firm and soft.) Very clean room. The maids did an excellent job of freshening up daily. Excellent customer service made up for the initial room. Was a stepping off point for my family to go to Jamestown gold panning (about 40 mins away) and Columbia about 50 mins away. Vallecito with the Moaning Caverns was about an hour away, but unfortunately I couldn't find any hotel closer to those locations that were available or up to snuff. The available options seemed less up to date and were charging about or over, the same price we paid for the Holiday Inn. Family friendly restaurant across the street (old school, country, kinda feeling.). Chicken fried steak, etc. Overall, the hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Small pool, perfect for my 8 yr old. Breakfast was OK. Good for a continental breakfast. Coffee, tea, cereal, powdered eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, juice. Excellent customer service. Would stay again if we were ever in the area.
