I really liked the first floor common area. There were plenty of areas where one could hangout with a friend they traveled with or at the bar. The room was very nice and well kept. I also like that you can choose your room from the lower or higher floor, and with a downtown view or a view of their courtyard. It was something that I haven't seen or been offered at other places. The staff was very friendly and was available to help with anything. This is a very good hotel I would recommend to anyone if they don't mind taking a uber or similar ride app to nearby places. The major downside to me would just be the area surrounding the property. Like many others say it is a bit unsafe if you're alone and not familiar with downtown LA with it being so close to skid row. I only walked nearby to a Museum called the Broad and Walgreens during the day. Only one unpleasant interaction I had with one of the homeless. It's out of their control but I do appreciate having security on site.

Only stayed one night for a quick business trip, but as a solo traveler this place was perfect. Reminds me of a room on a cruise ship....very modern, well appointed and clean, just tiny. You're two blocks from Skid Row so you're gonna have to step around homeless people outside but DTLA is DTLA. If I need to be downtown again in the future I'd definitely stay here again. They don't have their own parking garage, but there are numerous parking garages nearby (found using the spot hero app) are cheaper than an overnight valet at most hotels anyway.

FAMILIES BEWARE! There is a statue that greets you that says PORN and a graphic neon sign taking up a large portion of the wall in the lobby. Apparently, this place is known for extensive free porn. Glad I wasn’t traveling with my children.

I was in a hurry making this reservation and found upon my arrival that I was staying (3 nights) in a Japanese style hotel. The first room was so small one could hardly turn around. The queen size bed took up the entire room leaving only a narrow isle down one side and the other side was pushed up against a wall. There was NO place to hang clothes nor any dressers. We were on the verge of looking for a different hotel when the fine desk attendant offered up a normal room. The hotel is on the edge of skid row and we didn't go out after dark. The best that can be said about this hotel is the HOTEL STAFF,

The stay was great! The rooms aren’t big but they are cozy and comfy with modern touches. The staff was great as well. Only downside is the hotel is located very close to Skid Row but if you stay clear from that area you’re good.

Overall, a good stay and serves a purpose. Cons include being on the edge of skid row which means being at the epicentre of a lot of social problems. The kind that result in seeing someone semi naked, high on meth defecating on the pavement at 3 in the afternoon. The room was also pretty small, although well designed, but not ideal if there are two of you as one person has to climb over the other to get out of bed in the night. Also if you're a couple, and not at the stage where you're comfortable listening to your partner poop on the other side of an opaque glass screen it's probably best to swerve this one. Pros ironically were the location. It's located conveniently next to lots of good things including food spots. The staff were friendly and the check in process pretty slick. The in room electronics, big windows and mood lighting made the stay nice.

Front Desk & Coffee service was excellent, everyone always had a smile . One thing i would suggest is a non skid in shower base. I slide in my 1st time.
