Holiday Inn Express Arcata / Eureka - Airport Area, an IHG Hotel

They had 24hr access to coffee and tea. My kids enjoyed the pool and I appreciated the laundry room. They also helped us when we needed extra towels or a fork to eat in our room.

Great location for going to the sites near by. My family stays here once a year and its always amazing.

The property was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Our children enjoyed the pool. The location was not convenient or walkable but it was close to an airport and interstate.

Great the first night, despite the staff in the rear (adjacent to our room) of the building barking at me for having a service dog and questioning my disabilities as we walked to the car. Some minor issue with the key card which receptionist texted she would “put in a work order for”…OK. Comfortable, friendly & helpful staff. The First Night. On our second day I needed a new key card as one of my children had lost one and they had also expired. Special/ busy day for my son’s birthday. Gone most of the day. That evening, reception was a tall, thin older man. Balding with shoulder length gray hair and glasses. I also needed some plastic bags and he asked me “we good?” And then I requested the key card. Again, he asked, “we good?” Ok. Probably our new key card got mixed with the old ones because I had trouble a second time. I was very disappointed after such a day to have to argue my need for a new key card explaining the problem on the previous day and mentioned the work order. I’m a mother, I’m patient. The third time I had issue with the key card I was confronted not gently about being given three cards that supposedly didn’t work. It was almost an argument when after midnight all I wanted to do was enter my hotel room without having to wake my kid up a second time. I have medical issues which include ankle fracture, insomnia, and deafness. This man insisted on opening my door himself with the new key card three halls down TBC
