My cousin and I where getting food from the vending machine and the snacks got stuck. Therefore, we tried to get the food for about 20 minutes. When I was finally were able to obtain the food we decided to sit and eat our snacks right outside of our room. We didn’t want to disturb my family by talking inside of the room while everyone was sleeping. One of the male employees saw us sitting alone and began to ask us questions like “How are you?” “Did your parents ever arrive to the hotel?” “Would you like some water” “Are you sure you are okay?” “How old are you?” “Are you talking to your boyfriends?” My cousin is a minor but I am not. When he asked me for my age I clearly told the man I didn’t feel comfortable sharing then he asked for my age again and I told him I was not going to tell him. He asked one more time and I once again told him I was not going to tell him. He then proceeded to try to guess my age. After not obtaining any information from me he began to ask my cousin for her age. She also didn’t answer. He also asked us if we wanted to get high. I was shocked by his question so I replied “ugh” he repeated himself again and said “do you want to get high” he could tell I was disturbed by the question and proceeded to say “do you want to get high with candy” i told him “no we don’t” the man kept trying to talk to us. It wasn’t until he began to ask my cousin question about her personal life that I told him “you can go now” theirs event left us feeling scared.

Seamless check in. Manager professional In the European style: none of the childish fake smiles that are so common here. Instead, he was efficient, courteous and competent. Breakfast bar adequate for the number of clientele that stay at this out-of-the way destination in off-season. And the manager keeps the breakfast area spotless. Rooms clean and comfortable except for 5 short curly black hairs in the shower. I would return.

We've stayed here before so we arrived knowing what to expect. This is a moderately priced motel with recently remodeled rooms. It's 20 minutes off the 198/Visalia. For those who love wine or fruit it is perfectly located among the many small towns. We have family in Orange Cove, which is why we already knew about this little gem. All of that said the best part is that this hotel is about 1hr from the Kings Canyon gate. Most people use the "front door" to get into Sequoia. It's twisting, turning, crowded, and with the recent road construction there is significant delays. The Kings Canyon gate is the "back entrance", allowing quick access to Kings Canyon itself, Grant's Grove, the Sherman tree and multiple campsites. You miss out on the lower half of the park but you gain quicker access!
