Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa

We booked a nights stay as we have recently booked our wedding at this hotel, we couldn't of asked for a better place to get married, rooms were excellent, spa was busy but it was valentine's weekend and the food was superb. We are more than happy to share with our family and friends after our nights stay

The room we were in was old, dated and in serious need of a refresh. The bathroom ceiling is starting to peel, the chairs in the seating area outside the room are falling apart, the bed was uneven and the furniture is old and unattractive. Aside from that there were no bathroom accessories (shampoo, etc) and the cups in the bathroom were made of super cheap plastic (the type you drink wine from at a beer festival) so it certainly didn’t have a luxury feel. Unfortunately there was also snot smeared on the wall leading into the bathroom so that also dampened the experience. On the plus side I found the gym and pool area to be quite lovely and well maintained. I’d caution against getting a treatment at the spa though; I booked a 25 minute massage which actually lasted only 14 minutes which left me feeling short-changed. I should have complained at the time but felt too awkward - how do you tell the masseur that you want your extra 10 minutes you paid for only to have her resentfully finish the job with tension in the atmosphere? Breakfast was rather good - it was included in the room rate but at £15 a head we didn’t have our family/friends nearby join us as they, understandably, found it too expensive. The one positIve thing that did stand out was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who were great from the moment we checked in. Overall I’d say the Bryn Meadows Hotel was over priced and it doesn’t feel like they’re reinvesting in the upkeep of the rooms.
