Heritage Park Hotel

Stayed last year everything was great hence went back this year. Had to change rooms as tv didnt work ( England was playing in Euros). Booked into dinner 7.15pm as told Sunday carvery till 8pm. At dinner then told carvery ended at 4pm! Yet a group of tourists were allowed carvery at 7.30pm, felt discriminated! Then were given wrong starter and dessert not what ordered. Hotel staff did take off one starter off bill then gave bottle wine as apology. But overall totally dissatified. There was only 3 female staff trying to cover reception, bar and restaurant. We didnt order a main meal as others on another table were complaining about their food. We stayed there for family funeral so was dissapointed with our stay. Did complete the form stating all this but never heard from hotel since.

The main common areas look good and as pictured but we wish we'd read previous reviews. The room we had smelled like dirty dusty carpet, the shower curtain had mould on it, the matress was very hard and bouncy so you felt every move the other person made and the room generally needed TLC so I'd not say its 4* more 2-3* (slightly better than a travelodge) Its a shame because the staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok £10 per adult £5 for children you get the usual buffet & a selection of hot options.

We enjoyed our two night stay for a family event in Cardiff. Room was comfortable and we had a very good meal in the hotel restaurant on the first night. A bonus was the easy access to the mining museum next door and we were able to pop in for a quick visit before leaving. Only slight criticism would be a lack of items and refills on the breakfast buffet but the freshly cooked breakfasts were delicious.
