Best Western Pontypool Metro Hotel

The room (206) was small. But more than adequate for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and blackout curtains were much needed and blocked out any light ensuring a good sleep. The only let down was the breakfast. Needless to say I will not buy it again. No bread!! They run out. Sorry there is a garage shop nearby go get a loaf. Bacon was anemic and sparse. Scrambled eggs like egg soup. Coffee was coloured water.. OMG i am not kidding. Awful. When greeted for breakfast we were asked "any allergies" i said no, but in hindsight i should have said "only to watered down beans, tinned tomatoes without any juice, a lack of bread, and bacon fresh out of the packet...".

The hotel was situated in the right place, for being able to meet family in the area. It was clean and the staff were friendly.

Was put in a room very close to very busy A road dual carriage way it was a twin room the beds were nor standard singles but children size bed within minutes of arriving i asked to be moved as the nosie from A raod to loud and i knew it would keep me upi was told no rooms left all sold out he he no emotion rather like a robot and passive aggressive i then looked on line there were room available so he lied to my face also we didnt ask for disabled shower room we wanted a bath also bad noise insulation sounded luke there was a hear of elephants in the room above and could here everything people were saying to each other when passing our rooms the shower room was not as clean as it could have been also you could see finger marks on doors etc so not washed
