Weathervane Hotel by Greene King Inns

Hi, I brought my two year old daughter ahead ahead of a trip to Alton Towers, for a one-night stay. Check in was friendly and we had room service from the bar menu as (I think) kids weren’t allowed in the bar by the time we were ready to eat. Again, the staff who delivered the meal were friendly.

The place is a bit tired but was good for what we needed. Friendly, family atmosphere.

Everything was perfect to be fair . Standard but perfect . Only thing to moan about was on arrival the reception seems to be ran by the manager that also works the pub . We arrived tea time friday and the pub was busy . Myself and my partner and anotuer family had to wait a good 15 / 20 mins before anybody came to check us in

The staff in the bar area were great with the kids. Food was good 👍 Our room was so noisy with people next door and upstairs walking about only not even trying to be noisy just the building was creeky! the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows lumpy. Check in and out was easy, free parking plenty of spaces . We didnt sleep great due to uncomfortable bed, bathroom tired and needed updating. Probably would stay elsewhere next time but for the price you get what you pay for .

The hotel just needs Abit of TLC seems to have got well used, room was clean, bed, sink, toilet bath. Just needs updating because seems to be Abit dated. Got in room very warm and cosy but to warm for the night, so turned the heater off completely and I was still warm through the night so I opened the window. Restaurant next door caters for adults aswell as children, was very busy when we went for food can't complain about it seems to be well priced and affordable for drinks to, have offers on throughout the week. Separate bar next to the restaurant area with music. Seems to attract a lot of families, be aware you will get the odd children running around but for me it wasn't much of a problem.

The hotel was exactly what we needed for a family trip to Alton towers. Comfy bed to sleep in and the food was great. Cannot thank Robyn enough, she went above and beyond to help us with our booking issues when we arrived can kept us updated. She was fab!

A nice place to stay after a hectic day at Alton Towers, food here is great, really good value, if you have little ones that are not big eaters McDonald's is across the road.
