Property in city center so you will have to park at the train multi storey car park, not children friendly

Absolute shambles. Arrived late at night to find my booked and paid for room had been sold. No explanation. Just ‘computer says no’ from two feckless staff without any clue. Took them 45 minutes in the middle of the night to find me a room in the Hilton across town. (They lied telling me that they had contacted every hotel in the city when they’re quite clearly hadn’t. They said that they had tried to find me a room in the Hilton Hotel, they hadn’t, I checked.) What happens if I’d have been with a young family, or an alone female traveller? Why was no explanation given? Why was the room sold when I had a confirmed booking? A disgrace.

Booked a night away for me and my wife for her birthday to watch Micky Flanagan but unfortunately, we were placed in a room with an inter-linking door for a family room. We had an older couple next to us, little did we know, who were extremely loud and disrespectful all night until the early hours of the morning! I had to knock on the inter-connecting door asking them to keep it down at half past 12 at night, but they just kept shouting through the door and had no consideration for others! In the end, I had to ring down to reception at 1am to complain. This all started off again at 8am, with no consideration for any neighbours! The bed was clean and comfy, but the room was very disappointing. The carpet was stained and the bathroom had seen much better days! The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, the shower door didn't close and was held together with a raw plug and a screw. Also the shower head wasn't securely fixed to the wall! There was also a cupboard in the bathroom which was left open and unlocked, which wasn't pleasant! A very disappointing stay, which was meant to be a treat for my wife's birthday. The following day we were extremely tired and felt very low.

Good location but no car parking families although they offered a discount at a local car park apart from that worth the money! Great variety of breakfast but they need to use good eggs!!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times since it is very close to my children’s flat, when it was called the Jury’s Inn. My room was very comfortable and the location was brilliant. The breakfast was ok, not as good and plentiful as before. I also have to comment on the cleaning of the rooms. It seems that they use an outside contractor for room cleaning and I think that the cleaners aren’t that motivated or organized to do a proper job,on 2 occasions,my room was forgotten. On complaining, the manager on duty tidied and refreshed my room herself! I have come across this in other hotels,that use an outside contractor. The upkeep definitely seems inferior.

Second Stay Here, Would, and Have recommended to family and friends. Food, lovely and Hot, Buffet Breakfast, Really Good Value.

I booked 3 rooms of two nights with my family in the hotel. However, the key card did not work for several times and no any housekeeping and cleaning bin services were provided. My room 920 has also no refill of coffee & tea even I already told reception!

I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Appalling service. Not only had I spoken with the team at 8.16pm on the evening to confirm the late arrival of the guests I had booked, but I had also booked and fully paid for the room. Yet just before midnight I receive a call from them to say they don’t have a room (they’d clearly sold it to someone else) and the mother and baby I had arriving were left at midnight being told you can’t stay here (having already arrived and parked in carpark by this point).

We stayed in a family room with a double bed and a single bed. The bedding on the single bed was very dirt and had lots of stains. The pillow had the most stains so did the bedsheet. We called reception and had the bed sheet and pillow case changed. There were lots of dirty marks in the bathroom too.

Staying as a family, we went to watch cricket. 20 min walk to the ground. Hotel staff friendly. We were given high floor room due to building works going on through the night locally. Didn’t hear a thing. Room was fine, bathrooms are dated but perfectly ok. 5 min walk to the station car park. Breakfast selection was really good.
