Best Western Moore Place Hotel

We had a nice family room, we were told that the sofa bed was broken so two smaller beds had bren put up for our children which took up a fair bit of space in the room. Also the door handle was broken which made it a little tricky getting in and out. But the breakfast lovely, the little courtyard view was lovely from the room and it was really close to woburn safari. So it ticked the boxes we needed plus it was extremely quiet at night time.

Staff attentive and friendly. We’d stayed in the main building and bungalows before but this was the first time we’d been allocated a room in the courtyard annex. First impressions were mixed. The ‘guests’ we met in the corridor were rowdy families who came over as territorial and I felt uneasy as it was very dimly lit and otherwise deserted. Our room was looking onto road but was compact with everything we needed. We had enjoyable drink at bar early evening. Decided we’d talk to reception about extending our stay and having Sunday lunch at the hotel. We didn’t get to sleep until the early hours as the children next door and down the corridor were in and out of each other’s rooms, shouting and banging doors but when we did drop off the bed and duvet were comfortable and we got some sleep. Went down for breakfast at 8.00am and we were delighted with the service and particularly the buffet the chef had provided as it was beautifully presented as well as being fresh, tasty and good quality. We decided we’d definitely ask about booking in for another night or two as everything was to our liking. We went back to our room and as we approached the staircase at 8.30 am we were greeted by loud music and shouting and arguing. We soon realised it was coming from the room next to us and on entering our room the noise was unbearable and got louder. Instead of showering and changing, we quickly packed up and checked out. Why allocate this room and ruin guests experience.

Breakfast staff undermanned at busy time esp when priority given to family who hadn’t booked and required vegan breakfast and assistance with baby food. Everything ran out such as glasses; fruit juice; plates and lengthy wait to be seated, probably due to additional numbers there were not expected. This delayed what I had hoped would be a quick real fast and get away.
