ibis Styles London Southwark – near Borough Market

We booked a trip to see harry potter the cursed child and wanted to stay pretty central. This hotel had a good location and was reasonably priced. The decoration from walking through the rotating door to getting to your room was amazing. Such lovely decor. The smell in the foyer was the best, i would love to know what it is. I loved the breakfast but my husband prefers a cooked breakfast. Staff were lovely, nice easy check in and check out. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We requested for some hot milk for the baby in the evening, and the hotel staff said us it wasn't allowed... in addition there wasn't a fridge in the room, so we couldn't hold the milk with us. There wasn't a bathroom brush.

Great location on tourist bus route and near trains. The hotel was clean with great quirky design. Rooms were simple and the additional room with pull out couch was perfect with kids.

Great location, great family room with internal door rather than being in one room

The hotel is located on a large and noisy street but fortunately, we got a room on the 3rd floor facing inwards, with an ok view. There was no noise and the room was ok, although the with a very hard mattress and few hangers / limited space in the closet. My parents were less fortunate: they stayed in a suite on the 5th floor with our two children and when we arrived in the evening of the first day, the sofa bed was not even made up for the kids and it smelled strongly of fresh paint on the whole floor. We considered asking to be moved, but I don't think they had any other family rooms available. Breakfast was fairly basic and the breakfast buffet and breakfast room did not really seem fit to accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. Glasses and cups were often hard to come by, and the coffee was not good (from an automatic machine). I guess the best that can be said about the hotel is that it has been newly refurbished, the rooms are ok - clean and no noise - and it is within walking distance to the Thames, The Globe and Tate Modern, but if you are looking for a nice breakfast or a bit more of character and service, this is not the place for you.
