Red Lion Hotel by Greene King Inns

A two night stay to visit family. We were warmly greeted on arrival and checking in was quick and easy. Room was comfortable and warm and very quiet. As we have stayed before we know that we would have no problems.

We have stayed here before but this time fro two nights whilst at a family gathering. Perfect location for the restaurant and location of our party. Very handy to be in the town (last minute presents to be bought!) which was only a stroll away. The hotel is typical of a town pub/hotel. A decent sized pub/bar downstairs and large comfortable rooms upstairs. Being an old building there are lots of creaky floors and rambling corridors (up and down stairs) but it is what you would expect. A big plus is the decent parking available. The breakfast was ok. Nothing exceptional at all but adequate. Would have liked black pudding and why not use local products (felt that it was just shop bought stuff used). Overall it was fine and comfortable.
