The little touches eg the fresh milk made a massive difference. We were surprised by a long queue to check in. The room was clean and comfortable. Although it was a digital tv it was not a smart tv which felt very old fashioned. The swimming pool was not the tranquil place we had hoped for with families splashing in a noisy way. The rest of the facilities were great but we were upset by the additional cost for the spa that was initially quoted as £10 then increased to £15. The gym was great and the best hotel gym I have ever used. The cold sweat towels a fantastic idea. Breakfast was very nice although tiny eggs were a strange economy. Overall, the value and experience was good and I would return.

Beware! There has been a change in policy. Apparently if you book this hotel via Expedia/Hotels.com you cannot use the pool without an extra charge. Nowhere on the booking does it state this. I have stayed in this hotel many times and this policy is new. My family and I went to the pool and were refused entry, they then made me go to reception to sort it out, reception tried to charge me £30 which I refused.

Beds were absolutely awful my back is still in half. Paid £25 to use the pool which should be included in the price considering I paid £155 for my stay and couldn't even use the facilities which upset my children massively. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everything going on in the other rooms had around 4 hours sleep and got out of there as soon as we could

The hotel is lovely. The spa was super busy with families and extremely young children in the hot tub. As for the breakfast avoid it at all costs. Not sure how you ruin a croissant I have no idea but they did, and as for the coffee I wouldn’t even bother. Restaurant evening Meeks are hit and miss the pie was great the rest was poor for the price.

Great place to stay and very family-friendly. There was a robe, slippers and treats for our little boy in the room on arrival, which he loved. The pool and gym were great, we did have to wait a bit to access the pool in the afternoon as it was full, not a big issue though. Very clean and in really good condition, easy to tell that the pool and spa are well looked after. We will definitely come back.

We loved our stay at your hotel and we're sad to check out. The little touches like the welcome pack for the children and the pillow choices were great. My girls loved the pool and we made the most of the membership. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. We can't wait to come back!

I'm afraid I was very disappointed. In my honest opinion this is not designed to be suitable for families with school-aged children. First, no mention was made on Expedia of the additional (£25) charges for use of the pool. Second, we then found that use of the pool was extremely restricted (7am-11am and 4pm-7pm). I fully understand that this is primarily designed as a spa, but then it should not be marketed as "family friendly". Then, thirdly, on the occasions when I needed to ask staff for help/support I found them to be abrupt.

The hotel is easy to reach. Unfortunately additional request (an additional sheet) was forgotten. In addition the website does not provide the information, that kids are only allowed to certain times in the pool. This is only revealed after booking - unpleasend since you have to re-scedule your day.

The room was really dusty and very small for a family room. No where to hang towels. It has a nice bar but it’s expensive to eat there. The saving grace was the pool and hot tub they were great overall we felt you don’t get value for money considering how much the room was.

Lovely, well staffed hotel and great room. Wonderful for a stop off on the way to the West Country but marred by a very noisy wedding party who woke us all up in the night; not the hotel’s fault but perhaps the wedding guests could’ve been roomed on a different corridor from family guests.
