Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC, an IHG Hotel

For a mini get away, the hotel was pretty much perfect. It wasn't too far from the city and there was a fair amount to do in the surrounding areas. The service from the staff was excellent and they were lovely individuals. Also the Resorts World arena and the National Exhibition Centre were virtually right next door which was great for convenience. Pendigo lake was also lovely to walk around/sit by and have a few quiet moment watching the families of geese swim by.

Four of the same family attended for four days in November 2023. The Hotel did have a very high standard of cleaning in all areas of the Hotel. The staff were exceptional with excellent customer service and their clothing attire was above standard. Only disadvantage, the breakfast was not up to expected standards any of the four mornings, plates were just about warm, but all the food cold.

Great location and at the side of a brilliant complex with all of the usual eateries and bowling … perfect for a family trip to the airport or in the NEC complex 👍

We really liked the style of the hotel and its location! We stayed in a junior suite. It was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of tea/coffee/water supplies. The hand wash and other toiletries were lovely too. The only negative, is the technology in the room was dated, I.e. there was a CD player, this could not connect to any mobile devices and there were no CD’s available.

Due to location in close proximity this hotel is onto a winner. Plenty of space in the car park, we were greeted with a warm welcome at reception. We were pleased to see that the referb works that were ongoing during our last stay in the bar area were completed. Initially upon entry in the room as was well, we would a little disappointed to find two large pieces of what we assumed to be a wine glass were on the floor, one tucked under a curtain, the other under a table. (Could have been interesting with 3 children in the room). Breakfast was fab, sat at a table within seconds, food was hot and replenished frequently.

As a family of 3 we couldn't have ask for anything more, staff was very pleasent and polite, room was lovely and the breakfast was outstanding and my daughter who is 5 really enjoyed sleeping here.

Well not too good the overall stay as booked for 2 adults and two teens and yet the room had one queen bed and one single pull out sofa so enough for 3 not 4…also there was a mix up as my booking had names on I didn’t recongnise so was worried for a little while as was travelling alone with my 3 children so it was sorted out but children were worried someone could gain access to the room as there was a keycard in the room on arrival that wasn’t ours. The hotel was under redecorating/construction very noisy but wasn’t aware of until arrived. Late at night we just got in the lift and the electric went off luckily we all jumped out of the life before doors closed as would have been trapped. Probably will not visit again which is a shame as ideal location for NEC

My family and I stayed overnight during Cruft's week-end. We booked 3 rooms as we had 7 grandchildren with us. Our only negative remark was that we had to wait until 3 o'clock to get into our rooms. The children were well catered for and the staff were very helpful.

Highly recommend, stayed with family of 5, decor is a bit dated, but hotel room was very clean and the beds are so comfortable! Would stay again
