Clayton Hotel, Manchester Airport

Bedding was damp and the booking was for 2 adults and 1 child but we were only given 2 towels -Bus driver to the airport was so friendly and helpful giving vacation advice - great help with pick up and collection advice

We stayed for one night as a family of four. Negatives: On arrival we’d been given 2 towels. The air conditioner kept switching itself off during the night so I was up every 2 hours switching it back on. Positives: bed was comfortable and room was clean.

Super easy and nice check-in. Love that it’s so easy to the terminal. Very efficient overall with comfortable beds. Was a little disappointed in the dinner options. The Grill says family friendly but we wanted a straightforward simple dinner. Not a £35 3 course dinner or pricey main course. The tv didn’t come in real clear. The bathroom was clean but no fan so steamy. Only 2 towels for 3 people. However the front desk was responsive and brought us up a warm set of towels quickly. Would be nice for 30 minutes free parking so we could say goodbye to our ride after getting checked in without a huge rush before incurring a parking fee.

The shower bathtub is somewhat clogged and there is no shower head, making it inconvenient for children to use. The toilet board was not the right size and the toilet had some cracks and it seemed that it had not been cleaned properly.

Rooms are excellent as are breakfast and dinner menu. Like most hotels though, prices for drinks, food and snacks high..e.g. £11 for glass of wine and £4 for a pck of Jelly babies. Great shuttle service to and from hotel, station and terminals.

Great stay over before flying out the following morning. We had a junior suite with separate lounge area. Very clean and comfortable. Arranged a transfer to T2 absolutely on time. Couldn’t fault anything.

It was an airport stopover, which we turned into a family gathering. Very nice indeed.

All was good, check in was done in advance and we arrived after midnight after a long flight and just used the machine to get room cards. We had pre-arranged an upgrade to a family suite with additional beds directly with the hotel and this was also honoured.

Shabby by any standards, but especially so considering the price they charge. Very basic facilities, no microwave or fridge, just one limescale crusted kettle. Breakfast not included in price - would have been an additional $50 for my family, on top of the already inflated price. Walked to the airport terminal for snacks instead. Original room they put us in was like something from Hotels from Hell - tucked away in the back of the premises, no wi-fi, stained curtains, bedding and carpets, and scaffolding right outside the window. Managed to get moved to a different room, which was cleaner, and had wi-fi, but was still functional at best. Which would be okay if this was a budget hotel, but it isn't. Lady at the front desk was very obliging and understanding when I asked for a different room. She saved it from a one-star review.
