Hotel Riu Plaza España

Pros: Many. The location could not have been better. The views facing the plaza (11th floor) were stunning and we had a terrace. Room service food was good (several vegetarian options) and better than Eden restaurant but you cant beat the views from Eden or the rooftop. In fact the rooftop a tourist attraction that people pay to go to for the views. Shopping is everywhere. Restaurants everywhere. Hands down its where I’d stay again if I went back to Madrid. Public transportation is right outside as are taxis. Convenient to the airport and central train station. Cons: Wish we had an ottoman to put our feet up on the terrace. Because you really could sun bathe. Pool was pretty but small and could crowded. No bathtub if you like them or need one for small kids. Breakfast was ok if you dont want to figure it out every morning but youre paying for convenience. it’s the same everyday.

It is very convenient to access tourist attractions as it is located in the city center, and the rooms are also excellent. The room is quiet and clean. The staff are very friendly and provide detailed information on any inquiries. Also, the breakfast is delicious. I recommend it for family trips.

Great location as it’s walkable to most famous Madrid sites. Highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling with kids, super friendly and convenient.

We had an excellent stay at the Riu. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a junior suite with a beautiful view. The big draw here is the rooftop bar and honestly, we didn’t love it. Super crowded, overpriced drinks, and snobby waitstaff. There are so many wonderful places to have drinks in Madrid, I certainly wouldn’t waste your time at the rooftop bar. As for the rest of the hotel, it was great. FYI- for future travelers parking garage is at the back entrance of the hotel.

Great hotel in general but the pool is too small for the hotel, breakfast is really good but I think restaurants should have more options for kids if you’re traveling as a family, on the other side you can find many food options around the hotel.

Great location in the center of Madrid. It's right on a metro and bus stop, and it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go from the location. Rooms were clean and everyone was very friendly. The rooftop bar is a popular destination, but both times we went, they asked us if we were staying at the hotel and when we said yes, we were seated immediately. We were a family of four and had a "suite" with a pull out double bed in one room and two twins in the other. The toilet was separate from the shower/sinks, which was nice with four of us. We would stay here again.

This hotel wowed my family of 4. Amazing location, beautiful & spacious rooms, insane breakfast buffet. Luxury all the way.

Loved the roof top bar and staff; manager was very prompt when the wrong people tried to ruin the ambiance by smoking weed. We loved the options of restaurants near and the walk distance to park where kids could play and many of the best spots and attractions. The only negative is that pool closes at 8pm. I think 9pm would be ideal for families after being out and touring. Ill give jt a top 5 star.

Beautiful Hotel centrally located. We had no idea what kind of hotel it was or where to go in Madrid but got really lucky! Felt like a luxury hotel 5 ⭐️. The sky bar was super trendy and hotel guests come in a different entrance so they try to accommodate you as best they can but the evenings get super busy so try and plan ahead. Breakfast was fantastic very impressed with the selection of food and service! Great park across the street by the plaza for kids to play! Definitely would stay there again!
