Hotel Madrid Plaza de España Affiliated by Meliá

Starting with the positives the hotel is in a good location with many restaurant and entertainment options. The property itself is very dated and in dire need of a facelift. In the back of the hotel where all the balconies face there is construction going on so it's extremely noisy from as early as 6:00 a.m. The hotel breakfast is okay but I kid you not when I say that during the 9 days of my stay the items on offer never changed once. It felt as though I was stuck in some time loop or a bad version of groundhog day. It also seems there may be some problem with their management system because for three consecutive days someone either knocked on the door or called on the phone to ask if I was checking out. Finally, during my stay I planned to use the little fitness center in the hotel. When I went to take a look I noticed a sign posted which stated that there was a €9 charge per person. There is no way anyone off the street would ever come in to use that tiny fitness center so I could only conclude that this was an additional surcharge for hotel guests. This probably explains why I never saw anyone use the facilities.

Do not remember the last time I was this satisfied with a hotel From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure they did an amazing job and trust me I never say that The front desk man was very attentive and kind There was fresh ice water at the counter The room was spotless and set up perfectly for our family including a gift of popcorn, gummies, and coloring books The luggage rack was already set up and everyone had their own towel We have been traveling for 10 days and were happy to get a clean bed and showers The next morning the included breakfast was well done Thank you for helping us close out our trip on a high note
