The Fox Hotel

Bad, bad, bad. The Fox doesn’t have parking for guests. You have to park at the Meliá, another hotel, and walk your way with all your luggage across town to the Fox. Not fun. When I got there at 1:00 am or so, there was no system. When I went to my room, it was occupied by other guests! I was not offered a room because there was no system! What kind of hotel is that? When I called the next day to ask to speak to the manager, they don’t tell you the name for security reasons; I would have to wait for the manager to call me. I mean, this is a supervisor of a hotel, not the FBI or CIA on an undercover mission. It is a disaster. They didn’t want to reimburse the percentage from Expedia, because it’s a third party. I told them to reimburse everything to me and then they could deal with Expedia themselves, because it’s not my fault that they offered the same room to two families. I’m still waiting for it to resolve. Sry bad hotel and management. Don’t stay there!

Some good notes about the hotel are that it's a cool, unique concept. The bright, pop art decor is fun. There are quite a few vendors selling food and drinks within the hotel and outside in the courtyard. It does create a fun, partylike atmosphere. The bad is it would have been nice to know ahead of time the hotel has no windows (minus the ONE suite that overlooks the courtyard), the TVs don't work, there's no internet, the hotel smells like mold, there's no hot water, the AC is on full blast with no ability to control it, the beds are uncomfortable, the rooms need renovation/paint/are in rough shape, water was leaking through the roof in spots, paint and wallpaper was peeling, bathroom was ROUGH and needed serious work, the courtyard blasts music until the wee hours of the night, and staff is few and far between. Essentially, it felt like a prison cell with some fun colors. Like, jail for kids... The hotel makes you sign a "release" when you get to the hotel stating all these problems and you have to "sign off" on it to get your room key (I've never seen or experienced that anywhere else.). The pictures of this hotel paint a different picture than what the true experience of this hotel is. Smoke and mirrors. I would not recommend staying here.
