It's a 20 minute walk into town so it may be better to Uber. Our room overlooking the lake was top notch. The view is incredible and the facility itself is outstanding. It worked out really well for our family.

This is a beautiful property with ex Ellen’s customer service. They provided all of the details upon checkin and even walked us to our room to give more details. There was a shuttle that would take people into town. This is a very nice service and it would have been cumbersome without it since this isn’t close to the main district. If you are with a group or will be coming in and out on a frequent schedule and don’t want to wait for the hourly shuttle, you may consider staying closer downtown. The lounge is beautiful with a wonderful view. The restaurant has a nice view as well. The only thing we didn’t like is the lack of counter space in the bathroom. There is a huge sink, which is lovely, but a baby bath basin isn’t necessary. Otherwise we loved it!

It was fantastic to stay at the Rees Hotel. In particular, we want to call out the friendly way in which everyone greeted us. Our arrival and the check in process was so simple and welcoming. Please thank Henry, Edward, Ruby and Amelia (german female in the dining room on 13th Dec) who were just great through out our stay. Our wedding anniversary dinner on the 13th was made special with a lovely “congratulations” from the kitchen along with some sweets delivered to our room. So very thoughtful!!. We also made good use of the shuttle bus and the tips and suggestions on what to do or where to go were always excellent. We will be recommending our family and friends to stay at the Rees.

It was a pleasant staying for 6 nights. We were a family of 4 and two children are teenagers. Two bedroom place was not as big as I expected, and only one bathroom was a bit of problem for us. If a bath and toilet were separated might be easier. I noticed also the noise. One middle of night a big noise from the room next door. As we are not a early start family, 6am started hearing some noises were unset wake up call. I couldn’t have late check out which was sad for us. Over all we are happy to go back and next time, when I book a room I would choose larger room for us and request whatever we need in advance.

I stayed at The Rees with my husband and two kids last winter on a skiing holiday in and I can't sing the hotel's praises enough. The two bedroom apartment was truly stunning, with state of the art facilities and a massive deck. The floor to ceiling glass meant that we had endless opportunity to soak up the beautiful views over Lake Wakatipu to the Remarkable range, which change colour and moods like a Hollywood starlet. A push of a button closed the blinds on the view at night, so we could laze on the comfy lounges and watch a new release movie. I loved the in floor heating, the washing machine and dryer - a must when you have kids - the push button fireplace and the gorgeous master bedroom. The restaurant is first class and has kids meals, the staff were brilliant and the location perfect. I can't speak highly enough about The Rees and the friends i have recommended it to, also rave about it.
