Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam, an IHG Hotel

We spent there 3 nights at this beautiful hotel. In fact we booked a family room since me and my friend travelled with our 2 teenagers daughters and unfortunately the room was small and not convenient for all 4 of us, 2 queen beds were too small, but after speaking with Gabriel from the reception who was an angel that gave us the best service that someone can give, he made sure to move us the next day to 2 superior rooms instead. Beside that incident, the staff in general is great, location is perfect next to shops and restaurants and yet quite area. Definitely would love to go back there.

This is an amazing place to stay as a family with small kids. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, and incredibly convenient to Amsterdam Centraal.

We had three rooms for our family. The rooms are nice, and beds are comfortable. We had the breakfast buffet and enjoyed the complimentary glass of wine during social hour each day. Location is close to the train station and a five minute walk to most everything. Also, there is an excellent Ramen restaurant across the street. To see the Anne Frank house or Van Goah museum, you must book those tickets weeks in advance, unfortunately we did not know this was the case. We will definitely stay at the Kimpton De Witt again and highly recommend.

This was my first stay at the Kimpton and will likely not be my last!!! Amsterdam being my second home due to work and family living in the NL I know the city/hotels extremely well. I can say the customer service was equal to the Waldorf or the Doelen, the staff were excellent and extremely friendly, I travelled with my nephew who is 15 and he was treated as any other paying guest. Reception staff courk answer any question or quirk we had, Cafe Celia staff (gentleman from Italy) was brilliant and nice to chat to but can’t remember his name sadly. Rooms are spacious and modern with all amenities you’d expect, bath robes, slippers, fridge, iron, air con, large bathroom. My only major dislike was the fact bedroom windows could not be opened so we had no fresh air but that’s a personal dislike and should not take away the standard the hotel offers but was a factor for me. The hotel breakfast is very good, fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, hash browns, sausage, bacon, breads, cold meats and cheeses, hand made coffees, freshly made eggs and breakfast dishes is you wish which is included in breakfast rate. The hotel is literally a 3 min walk directly across from centraal station, it is located within main shopping streets and 3 min from Dam Square, 8 min walk to the Anne Frank house. Tram stop is outside for Rijkmuseum (catch no.2 or 12 tram) which stops right outside the hotel and museum. I’d highly recommend the “social hour” and embrace it!!!

Our family of four recently stayed here and enjoyed this visit! The hotel is modern, clean and has a high commitment to service. We loved the location, so close to the Train Station and within walking distance to Dam Square, Anne Frank House and other sites. Staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!

From check in to check out this hotel was amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We asked for a late checkout, they gave it to us no problem. We asked for their bikes, they helped us with them. Nothing was too much bother. It’s an extremely, well run, efficient hotel that has staff that want to be there. Thank you to everyone for your kindness, you have no idea how much it meant to our family.
